The DCL1, electronic load, gets the fans, heat sinks, bus bars and display board mounted. Making the brackets and standoffs that will hold the components in place.

The LED lights have failed on two Trans Globe LED-90931BK light fixtures. Digging into the problem to find the cause.

Building a case for the electronic load, hereafter known as DCL1. The case has about 12.5 square inches of exhaust area. With space to mount 2 Noctua NH-U12S Redux heat sinks. I’m making the case from sheet acrylic, machined and glued to form.

Initial test and review of the American Beauty 3138X-175 3/8” soldering iron.

Testing the OIVO IV-P5211B 5 DualSense charging cradle. Tearing it apart to see what’s inside. Drawing up a schematic diagram to explore the workings of the device.

Replacing the power switch in an Earlex HV5500 SprayStation. Used a DaierTek KCD2 switch from Amazon to replaced the failed original switch.

Working on a Razer model RZ01-0201 wired gaming mouse. Disassembly, where the screws are hidden. Switch replacement. Assembly, reusing the mouse slide feet.

Review and try out of the Atten ST-862D Hot Air Station.

A review of the Noga MG61003 Articulated Indicator holder with magnetic base. Trying a 3/8 inch stem dial indicator in the holder and a dovetail mount test dial indicator.

Can not let some scrap 1/8 inch acrylic go to waste. So building an acrylic box to hold spent utility knife blades.

I’m finally giving the IXTX240N075L2 MOSFET a test-drive. Trying out a new drive circuit for the MOSFET. And can the heat sinks I have even get close to handling 300 Watts. Testing with an old heat sink out of a Mac Pro G5 dual processor. As well as a new Noctua NH-U12S Redux heat sink. Also trying to beef up a 1 ounce copper PC board to handle 30 amps. Description: After destroying one heat sink and a few other tangents. I now believe I have a method of measuring the TO-247 case temperature with it mounted on a test heat sink. Turning a Harbor Freight parts storage case, part number 93927, into a router bit storage case. Making an insert to hold ½ inch and ¼ inch router bits. Using O-rings to hold the bits in place.

Installing a ElecGear PS4 Orange kit joystick into both a PS4 dualshock with green potentiometers and one with orange potentiometers. Teardown of both the orange joystick and green joystick. Comparison between the green and orange potentiometers.

Building a cart to hold 9 Harbor Freight 15 bin small parts storage cases. Harbor Freight part numbers 93929 or 64811. The cart will be made from 3/8 inch thick acrylic. The over all size with casters will be 33.125 inches tall, 8.75 inches wide and 13.5 inches deep.

Trying to get a hand on just how much case to sink thermal resistance I’m dealing with. Getting a temperature prob on the case to see what is the real case temperature. Doing some thermal test on a heat sink out of an old Power Mac. Trying to get an approximate thermal resistance value of the heat sink. Fixing a KiCad ngspice error running on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. Error “Failed to load shared library libngspice.so.0.0.0 undefined symbol history_file”. Rebuilding the ngspice shared library and replacing the defective one.
