Jeffrey Tucker – A crisis of meaning?
As the world begins to resume some form of "normality", many would argue that we are witnessing a continuation of the challenges to civil liberties, democracy and human rights that were experienced throughout the world during the pandemic, in addition to rising costs of living, inflation and other economic challenges in the wake of Covid-19.

Jeffrey A. Tucker: Did liberal democracy die with covid?
As the world begins to resume some form of "normality" we continue to witness challenges to civil liberties, democracy and human rights as western liberal culture comes under attack.
It is also evident that many global centralised organisations such as the World Economic Forum are advancing their efforts to capitalise upon the crisis and drive forward the idea of a new social contract.
To unpack these issues I am joined by Jeffrey A Tucker, founder and president of the Brownstone Institute. He is a Distinguished Senior Fellow of the Austrian Economics Centre in Vienna, a research fellow of the RMIT Blockchain Study Group, a columnist at Forbes, and founder of Liberty.me.

David Bell: The Corporatisation of Public Health
Over the past two years, we have witnessed how central institutions and organisations such as the World Health Organisation (WHO) and other intergovernmental and NGOs can influence our governments in times of crisis.
In this episode, we dig deeper to find out what is influencing global planning for health, be it for pandemics or general health, and how some of the lesser-known influences are shaping policies like the Pandemic Preparedness Treaty.
We take a brief look at the history of global public health, its corporatisation and the shift in focus to pharmaceutical intervention and away from sanitation and infrastructure. We question the legitimacy of the growing power of the WHO and seek to understand what people can do to influence future decision making.
Our guest, David Bell is a clinical and public health physician with a PhD in population health and a background in internal medicine, modelling and epidemiology of infectious disease. He is a board member of PANDA and leads the socio-political projects on global public health.
Previously, he was Director of the Global Health Technologies at Intellectual Ventures Global Good Fund in the USA, Programme Head for Malaria and Acute Febrile Disease at FIND in Geneva, and coordinated malaria diagnostics strategy with the World Health Organization.

Frank Furedi – Dealing with Uncertainty
In this podcast, Frank and I look at the dangers of our fatalistic acceptance of the ‘New Normal’. Together we question if the defining feature of our Western culture is one of vulnerability and the consequence this has on individual agency. At a societal level, the promotion of safety as a first order value is at the detriment of freedom which if no longer valued can pave the way for authoritarianism.
We are witnessing a reluctance to embrace freedom which demonstrates how our passivity is an acceptance of paternalistic tendencies. Are we witnessing a creep toward a life steeped in technology where humanity opts to interact from the ‘comfort’ of home? Is this the future that we truly desire and how do we become the authors of our own destiny?

Ann Bauer – The Appeal of Binary Thinking
Follow the science is a phrase that we became all too familiar with over the course of the pandemic. Whilst the jury may still be out, it is becoming increasingly clear that following the science may not have been the best advice after all. Ann Bauer has experienced this first hand previously in her own life with her battle to find a solution to her son’s autism and quickly found many parallels to the dizzying madness of the changing restrictions and rules throughout the response to Covid-19

Can Elon Musk restore free speech?
Elon Musk reached an agreement to buy Twitter (TWTR) for roughly $44bn (£34.6bn), promising to make online speech freer and restore the “de facto public town square”.
The deal has been received with a combination of mixed and largely over the top reactions, but what power does one man have to transform free speech in the digital world in the face of new legislation like the Online Safety Bill in the UK and the Digital Services Act in Europe?

“Follow the science" is a phrase that we became all too familiar with over the course of the pandemic, but is it right to place so much trust in the experts?
In this episode I am joined by author Ann Bauer, recently known for her article entitled ‘I Have Been Through This Before’, where she outlined the parallels between her experience of dealing with the ‘experts’ in her battle to find a solution to her late son’s autism and the dizzying madness of the response to Covid-19.
Join us as Ann recounts her story and we explore why placing so much trust in the ‘experts’ could be flawed.
