Kitchen Saturday Night - Chris Burke
http://chrisburke.me/
Verse 1
I hail from down Cape Breton way, my daddy worked the sea
He told me back when I was young this life is proud and free
There’s no skyscrapers dirt or smog like up along this land
Just ocean air and lassies fair, the Lord’s creation grand
Verse 2
My momma’s kitchen seemed as grand as three big football fields
At weeks long end the folks would come to play the jigs and reels
Guitars and fiddles all around, the dancers were a sight
They sang the tunes and drank the rum, on
a Kitchen Saturday Night
Chorus
My daddy rosined up the bow while mother passed the jars
Old Uncle Archie strummed along his three chord repertoire
The neighbors came from all around, a Maritime delight
I thank the Lord I seen it all, on a Kitchen Saturday Night
Verse 3
We folk down in the Maritimes know hard work is the way
The briny sea and farmers fields, the mines so deep and grey
But all hard work without some play is not the way to be
When weekend comes it’s time for fun for folk down by the sea
Verse 4
I grew up proud, I grew up strong, my daddy raised no fool
Each Sunday we all walked to church, t’was mothers strictest rule
We Maritimers know what’s wrong and specially what’s right
Work hard all week but bring your strings
To the Kitchen Saturday Night

We Will Reclaim - Chris Burke
http://chrisburke.me/
Verse 1
In the quiet of the morning
I hear whispers on the wind
Echos of the past the story that never ends
We’ve grown tired of the searching, of feeling so alone
Nows the time to rise together and make this place our own
Chorus
We will reclaim this home thats ours
Through stormy nights and darkest hours
Bound by blood united we’ll stand
With fearless hearts and hands held high
We’ll reclaim our land
Verse 2
In the shadows of the evening, where dreams and hopes entwine
A legacy of strength and courage, spirit that won't decline
Through trials and tribulations, we'll forge a path ahead
With every step, a testament, to the words our fathers said
Chorus
We will reclaim this home thats ours
Through stormy nights and darkest hours
Bound by blood united we’ll stand
With fearless hearts and hands held high
We’ll reclaim our land
Bridge
The echoes of the past, they guide us on our way
We'll weave them into stories that we'll share along the way
No force can break the bonds that time has tightly spun
We stand together, sons and daughters, one
Verse 3
As the sun sets on the horizon, painting colors in the sky
We'll overcome the struggles, spread our wings, and fly
Through unity and kinship, we will build a future bright
We'll light the flame that gives us hope, burning through the night
Chorus
We will reclaim this home thats ours
Through stormy nights and darkest hours
Bound by blood united we’ll stand
With fearless hearts and hands held high
We’ll reclaim our land
Outro
So in the quiet of the morning, as a new day is reborn
We'll sing our song of triumph, a legacy adorned
With the whispers of the wind, our story will be known
We reclaimed our home, and made this place our own.
Chorus
Yes we reclaimed this home as ours
Through stormy nights and darkest hours
Bound by blood united we’ll stand
With fearless hearts and hands held high
We took back our land
Chorus
Yes we reclaim the home as ours
Through stormy nights and darkest hours
Bound by blood united we’ll stand
With fearless hearts and hands held high
We'll defend our land
With fearless hearts and hands held high
We'll defend our land

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald - Gordon Lightfoot
RIP Gordon Lightfoot
http://chrisburke.me/
Lyrics:
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy
With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early
The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconsin
As the big freighters go, it was bigger than most
With a crew and good captain well seasoned
Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
And later that night when the ship's bell rang
Could it be the north wind they'd been feelin'?
The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound
And a wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the captain did too
T'was the witch of November come stealin'
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashin'
When afternoon came it was freezin' rain
In the face of a hurricane west wind
When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck sayin'
"Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya"
At seven PM, a main hatchway caved in, he said
"Fellas, it's been good to know ya"
The captain wired in he had water comin' in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went outta sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Does any one know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters
In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed
In the maritime sailors' cathedral
The church bell chimed 'til it rang twenty-nine times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee
And today the bells rang another twenty nine times
plus one more for the man they call Lightfoot

Southern Cross - Chris Burke
I found out during our show on Thursday that David Crosby, of Crosby, Stills and Nash died at 81. Southern Cross was the last song my dad and I performed live before he hung up his strings due to deafness, and oddly, dad has been messaging me for about a week asking if I would record it, and then David died, so I kinda felt like I had to!
Here's my little tribute to David.. big thanks to my drummer Eli for putting up with me on this one!!!

Keep Your Rifle By Your Side - Chris Burke

Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Government, along with the NDP coalition have dropped a last minute "amendment" to Bill C-21 which effectively bans most guns in Canada. Many commonly used hunting rifles use by natives will be banned, with no exemptions. Common guns like the SKS, as well as 22's that many of our kids use for plinking, specifically named such as the GSG15 will be banned under this new bill.
Contact your local MP, explain how bill c-21 will affect your life.. bring them to a range (on your dime) and show them responsible gun ownership.

Crowder Ivermectin Segment
I clipped this from Crowders show today (sept 7, 2021). It's a really good breakdown of Ivermectin.
The media is spreading lies about it as horse paste etc.. this is a great video to show all those people making fun of you for taking vet medicine.
