SIOUX FALLS SOUTH DAKOTA // FALLS PARK // REVIEW AND DRONE VIDEO IN 4K
Sioux Falls South Dakota was a wonderful trip! The Falls Park was a particular highlight for anyone going through the area. I was able to get approval for the drone use and got some excellent video and the park was great to stroll through.
The town is a nice place to stay and there are tons of trails through town that follow the Big Sioux River and if you need to get some miles in this is the place!

GREAT PLAINS STATE PARK TO OKLAHOMA CITY DASHCAM TIMELAPSE / Garmin DriveAssist 50 Video
I was driving back from Great Plains State Park to Oklahoma City and southwest OK was flat! There isn't much out there and that's probably why I like it so much! I like the wide-open spaces, the big stars, and the quiet sounds.
You can really see the terrain and flatness in the timelapse!

LAKE MURRAY STATE PARK OKLAHOMA / MARTIN'S LANDING CAMPGROUND / Park Review
I visited Lake Murray State Park near Ardmore Oklahoma and it was impressive! The water is a clear green color and you can see to the bottom in most places. You should stop and visit if you're in southern Oklahoma!
Martin's Landing was also a wonderful campground and had cleaned up and new bathrooms and shower houses. Well worth a stay in your RV or for car camping. Many spots are right on the water and there are plenty of swimming areas around the campground.

TALIMENA STATE PARK REVIEW / Ouachita National Forest and Trail / Reviewing Oklahoma State Parks
I finally started the 2021 camping season on a good note! Talimena State Park in Oklahoma didn't disappoint. It was a small park but it has big perks.
The park is the gateway to the Ouachita National Forest and the start of the trail across Oklahoma and Arkansas. It also is a gateway for those with ATVs and bikes.

OKLAHOMA CITY TO SALT PLAINS STATE PARK / Driving Timelapse / Garmin DriveAssist 50 Dashcam
Drove from Oklahoma City to Salt Plains State Park and got out camping! I like seeing driving timelapse as the terrain changes and you can really see the change from forest to flat desert-like landscape. This was filmed on my Garmin DriveAssist 50 in 1080p.
The video is 4000x speed so I think 1 real minute is about 1.5 video seconds. Enjoy!

ARCHWAY TREKKING / Hoosier National Forest Indiana / Rock Archway Waterfall and Valleys
This is the second half of the Yellow Birch Ravine hike near Taswell Indiana in Hoosier National Forest. It is the Archway Trek and it's across the street from the Yellow Birch Ravine hike and just as spectacular as that hike!
This hike starts on the east side of the road and is across the street from the small parking area for the Yellow Birch Ravine hike. It is about 15 minutes and will take you straight to the archway and the waterfall that falls onto the rock archway. It beautiful but be very careful as there are a lot of rocks and slippery wet areas all around! Good luck!

INITIAL POINT / PIVOT POINT INDIANA / Start of Public Land Survey in Indiana / Historic Marker
I went to the Initial Point or Pivot Point in the Hoosier National Forest in Orange County Indiana. This place is the beginning point for the Public Land Survey in Indiana and it is how almost all the land is measured and divided in much of the United States. This point is how most of Indiana was measured from and some parts of Illinois. Townships were each 6 x 6 miles square north and south and ranges were each 6 x 6 miles square east and west. Each of these squares is called a township. It is separated into sections and so on and so on.
A very cool historical marker that still affects people's lives today!

SMALL WATERFALL NEAR HEMLOCK CLIFFS INDIANA / SloMo Video & Relaxing Music / Mavic Air 2 Drone Video
SloMo video from a small creek near Hemlock Cliffs Indiana. There was a lot of water moving in the box canyon and the creeks were all very full. I got the drone out and flew it up next to a small creek that has this long-running cascade through the forest. Enjoy!

HEMLOCK CLIFFS SCENIC TRAIL INDIANA / Hiking Hoosier National Forest Waterfalls / Southern Indiana
Hemlock Cliffs Scenic Trail near English Indiana and only 80 miles from Evansville, is a wonderful day trip and hiking activity for many people! The trail is moderate to hard if you take the eastern parking lot entrance and hike directly to the waterfalls, but it is easy to moderate if you enter the trail from the western part of the parking lot and then return the same way.
It's a beautiful area with cliffs, waterfalls and springs, trees, and many different streams all traveling through the little valley area. There is also much of the national forest around this area so camping could be done in areas near this special area. But, unfortunately, there's no camping or overnight parking in the vicinity of the trail and parking lot.
Be careful during busy times as the parking lot is small and fills up quickly. There's no parking along the entrance road so plan accordingly.
Finally, make sure you watch your step around the waterfall and streams and the rocks can be very slippery as you walk down and up the cliffs. If you want to avoid as many of the cliff areas as possible, take the long way starting on the east side of the parking lot! Hope you enjoy Indiana!

OHIO RIVER SCENIC BYWAY | Mount Vernon, IN to Cave-in-Rock, IL | Driving Timelapse | 23 Jan 21
I had a great weekend in Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois and got to see a lot of the awesome places in the National Forest.
This is the part of the Ohio River Scenic Byway from Mount Vernon, IN to Cave-in-Rock, IL that I took to start the trip. It was a nice drive and a real beautiful morning to see the land go from flat farmland to hills and then cliffs on the Ohio River.
Expect a video this week on the hiking spots and unique places in southern Illinois that you can stop at too.
Like and subscribe if you want more hiking spot info and comment if you have other awesome places you’ve been in Illinois! I'll be returning soon.
