Sailing Hobie Tandem Island off Tybee GA (We almost hit dolphins)
Part 8 of the Hobie Tandem Island series
This was the first time sailing off of Tybee Island Georgia in the actual ocean. We've been on lakes and ponds, but the wind coming off the Atlantic was really great. Saw some wildlife and caught some waves so it was a good day even if it got off to a slow start.

Corporate interests and Politicians Seek To Crush Local Food
There is definitely an effort to get rid of local community sustainability that competes with big business and corporate farming. Red or Blue, it doesn't matter, politicians want you dependent.
There's a Snake in the chicken coop!
I found a snake in our chicken coop. These rat snakes don't generally come looking for chickens, but rather the eggs. I've caught one before mid bite which is always funny. If you look online you can find pictures of hens straight up just sitting on them. While they don't normally hurt adult chickens, they definitely will eat a baby chick if given the chance so keep that in mind.

Hobie Tandem Island Sailing - Rudder Failure and Lessons Learned
For the first real outing I took the Hobie Tandem Island to one of the salt water march rivers along the coast. Strong currents and headwinds caused numerous challenges, mainly a rudder failure that was difficult to fix on the water due to the current. I learned a lot while getting some good exercise.
I'm new to sailing in general. Real world application is definitely different than reading or watching videos.

Build a Chicken Tractor Hoop Coop In Your Backyard!
Follow along as I document my entire process building this scrap wood hoop coop chicken tractor. I used extra wood I had around for the build, but equivalent wood is readily available at any home improvement store.
This specific chicken coop set up is great from people that have their chickens in a smaller coop, but want to get their chickens on fresh grass while protecting them from hawks. This is also great for people, like me, that want to make use of the chicken's natural instinct to dig and peck to help clear and fertilize future garden locations.

AR500 Battle Belt Review
My thoughts and review of the AR500 Battle Belt from the perspective of someone who uses it on a regular basis for more everyday reasons. I've used this for over a year now and for the money you really can't beat it. There are some concerns if you were to really want to use it for HARD use, but those are few.

Starting a Controlled Burn
Controlled burns are an important part of wildfire management. This footage is actually from earlier this year, at any rate come along as we burn off a lot of under growth in some of the woods around the farm.
