I’ve thought about turning Velicia from my cartoon “Schneeevil” into a catgirl many times in the past, so finally I decided to try and build her a new character sheet to see what she’d look like (and to also try out a new costume). Ragyo Kiryuin from Kill La Kill is easily one of the most evil villains in all of modern media. And is by far the MOST evil that I have discussed in the Velicia Cosplays series. In this week’s Velicia Cosplay video, it’s time to talk about Avatar: The Last Airbender’s most compelling villain; the one and only Princess Azula. Of all the villainesses I’ve covered in this series so far, I would daresay that Velicia is probably most like Azula, but not for the obvious reasons. Velicia from Schneeevil has changed her outfit yet again! This week’s cosplay: the illustrious White Diamond from Steven Universe! White Diamond was first introduced to us as a force of nature, a mighty godlike being of pure light and kindly malevolence, but eventually Steven got to her and made her reveal her true “colors”, as it were. What can be learned from a villainess such as White Diamond? Simple: even the most seemingly unstoppable and infallible adversaries have a flaw that can be exploited. It’s cosplay time again for Velicia! This week’s subject will cover the one-and-only Maleficent from the OG Disney movie Sleeping Beauty (and NOT the live-action Angelina Jolie version because that’s a completely different character as far as I’m concerned). Velicia is cosplaying yet again! This time it’s Queen Tyr’ahnee the martian queen from the famed Duck Dodgers! Specifically, this week I’m going to be diving into Tyr’ahnee’s bizarre and rather unhealthy romantic obsession with the bumbling Duck Dodgers, and what one can learn from a character who is seemingly strong, intelligent, and hyper-competent in every other aspect of her life and yet gets sucked into the pitfall of obsession. And furthermore, how a creator can use such a fatal flaw and inject it into their own work to spice up the story they wish to tell. Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers had one of the best examples of the archetypal villain: Rita Repulsa. I mean, this woman had it all. The evil lair, the evil minions, the evil laugh, even the evil catchphrase. So it’s no surprise that I’d steal all that goodness and inject it into my own villainous character Velicia from my cartoon Schneeevil! The late great Eartha Kitt is one of my all-time favorite voice actors, and if I lived in a perfect world, I would have my own cartoon character Velicia be voiced by her. Eartha Kitt had a rich career, spanning far beyond her voice acting. She was a prominent singer, an actor on broadway, a film and television star, and even a staunch activist in a time where such a thing could ruin your life. Her voice acting only really picked up at the very end of her career and her life. Despite this, she was wildly successful, and I believe it’s because she led a vibrant and rich life that she could portray so brilliantly in the characters she voiced. Though It’s not possible for Velicia to ever be voiced by Eartha Kitt, I want the spirit of what she was able to exude to be infused in Velicia in some way. Once again Velicia is cosplaying, and this time it’s Wuya from Xiaolin Showdown. Wuya was the original inspiration for Velicia. Even though in the Yzma video I said that I got most of Vel’s personality from Yzma, the catalyst was all Wuya. You see, with me banging on about Wuya being #bestwaifu, I thought to myself “Why not make a Wuya show?” Naturally I couldn’t just rip off of Wuya, but to make a show about a crazy space witch was something I could do, and thus Velicia was born. In this episode of Velicia Cosplays, it’s Dr. Mrs. The Monarch’s turn! And what does the Mrs. and Velicia have in common? Watch and find out! It’s the voice. Yeah, both characters are voiced by men. I voice Velicia and Doc Hammer voices Dr. Mrs. The Monarch. I’ve always been a fan of mismatched things in media, especially when it’s done smartly. Anything from inappropriate music playing while something horrific is happening, or characters with unusual voices. When done right, it’s a crazy reveal that just happens to work. The time has come once again for Velicia, star of my constantly-shilled cartoon Schneeevil, to cosplay a character. This week’s victim; Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove. Why Yzma? Well, in my last cosplay video I talked about the concept of the difference between an antagonist and a villain. I believe Yzma is a great model on how to make a protagonist villain despite her being the antagonist in Emperor’s New Groove. There is a difference between a Villain and an Antagonist. To study this point further, I’ve drawn Velicia cosplaying the Butt Witch from Twelve Forever. The Ebon Horde is the hivemind shadow demon entity that Velicia created as a means of having a large army at her disposal. The horde acts as a hivemind of cats that also act as the pet to the rest of the cast. Despite being a hivemind, individual “cats” can break off from the horde and assume different identities in order to differentiate themselves from the rest of the horde. When individuals do this they’ll put on some kind of disguise and change their “meow” to act like a character of sorts. Say what you will about She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, but it’s garnered a following, and I thought I’d take some time to dissect the reasons behind that … by drawing my own cartoon character Velicia cosplaying as Catra. Yes, I’m doing that nefarious thing where I try to associate my own creation with a pre-existing IP and make your foolish little monkey brains think that you like my thing too! But that’s a bit beside the point. What I’m doing with this new experimental series is finding out what I can glean from different shows and figure out how to inject it into my own content, particularly Schneeevil. But I want to add a little twist to the whole thing by drawing Velicia (who is the main character of Schneeevil) in various cosplays. First off, it’s fun to do. Secondly, I recognize that a character with some good-looking “assets” has an uncanny ability to draw eyes, so I am exploiting that aspect of the whole ordeal. Destructica is Velicia’s greatest creation; a bio weapon capable of global destruction, and yet the beast developed self-awareness and decided she’d rather spend her time writing bizarre fantasy stories than blow up the world around her, much to the dismay of Velicia. Sir Brick is meant to be the more grounded and mellow character in the series of Schneeevil. Velicia may be the ambitious and spastic leader, but she needs someone both in-universe and in a meta-story sense to balance her out and keep her from losing her head too much, and Sir Brick serves that purpose. Velicia is an evil sorceress bent on dominating the planet of Schneee, and Schneeevil is the show that chronicles her attempts (and failures) of meeting said goal. The hope is that this’ll be a fun goofy comedy cartoon y’all can watch and enjoy, and hopefully it’ll gain enough traction for it to become something bigger so I can up the animation budget and make it more impressive.

The time has come for the Schneeevil pilot! Well … kind of a pilot, more like an animatic proof-of-concept, but you get the point. Velicia, the self-appointed Supreme Dark Sorceress, plans to take over the planet of Schneee and rule as its one true all-powerful empress. Aiding and abetting her evil scheme is her second-in-comand Sir Brick The Black, her ultimate bioweapon monstrosity Destructica, and her army of shadowy creatures known as The Ebon Horde! Yes, Velicia has prepared for the day she takes over the world … but can she overcome those who would stand to oppose her? Furthermore, can she overcome her own minions who would rather pursue their own interests and hobbies?
