Reel Rigged Fishing

We were Carp fishing today with no luck. The water level has been dropping in an isolated pond off of the Blackstone river. We found this odd thing that stunk badly. It had the texture and feel of a jellyfish but was also like a sponge. It was transparent and was heavy. No idea what this is.

We spent the day at the Charles River outside of Boston catching 6 nice common carp between 15 and 17 pounds. All put up a great fight. Fishing at a 100 year old quarry in Delaware using my new Plusinno line spooler and telescopic fishing rod kit. No luck with the large carp I heard that were there but caught this beautiful Koi. Nice catfish and a sunfish too.
