The rain did not bother him, nor did the lack of food. He is a good reminder of some of my dad’s favorite quotes: “Get over it” and “S-@$ Happens”. The bird is a perfect reminder on this day, for my dad, who taught me to value hard work and to appreciate the people who fought for our freedoms.
