Description
As the ultimate exercise in futility, I make things from wood using only handtools. Why? Simply to see if I can measure up to the men of yesteryear; a time before machines took over, when reliance on wit, simple ingenuity, and modified knives moving across wood defined furniture design. Their creations have withstood the test of time, serving as a testament to the craftsmanship, patience, and skill that once shaped our world. Though I often find myself struggling with the limitations of my skills, I enjoy the challenge and the connection to a bygone era. It may be a fruitless endeavor but one I embrace nonetheless.
*All content on this channel is produced with FOSS. The Linux/GNU OS is used, videos are edited with Kdenlive, audio post-production is done with Ardour, and thumbnails are created with Inkscape, GIMP, and Krita; even down to Magic Lantern installed on a 10-year-old DSLR for added flexibility. This is done to prove to myself that Adobe, Avid, MacOs, and the other predatory and invasive products are not needed to produce content.*
