On today’s episode, Dr. Ben interviewed Dr. Dominic D’Agostino, a professor at the University of South Florida. Dr. D’Agostino shared his journey from being interested in nutrition to studying the brain-respiration connection and then learning to use the ketogenic diet as a neuroprotective technique. He shares how the ketogenic diet works better than any drug on the market in reducing seizures and how the pharmaceutical market has actually worked to try to get the ketogenic diet into a pill. Dr. D’Agostino’s work focuses on researching how the ketogenic diet affects different ‘disease’ states like seizures, type 2 diabetes, and cancer, amongst many others. He works closely with the United States military on ketosis and how it can benefit them in the area of combat. He speaks to exogenous ketones and how they can be beneficial for people who don’t handle eating larger amounts of fat well, or for people who need higher levels of ketones for therapeutic purposes. Dr. D’Agostino gives a detailed description of the ketogenic diet and what happens in the body during a state of ketosis. This can range from balancing insulin and glucose to balancing hormones, and up-regulating the gene expression in disease states. Our ancestors not only ate a ketogenic diet but also practiced time-restricted feeding. If you can limit the amount of sugar/glucose floating around in your bloodstream, your body will switch over to using fat for fuel. Ketones are byproducts of using this fat for fuel and has a tremendous impact physiologically in the body. He and Dr. Ben speak to “cheat” days and the effects that can have, not only on the body but also psychologically, especially for people who may have unhealthy relationships with food. Dr. D’Agostino goes further into detail on cancer cells and how they use glucose and ketones, with respect to their growth rate. He even says that modern modalities, like chemo and radiation, can actually be improved for patients in a state of ketosis. The difference between ketosis and ketoacidosis is discussed. They are very different states in the body that are often confused, but shouldn’t be. Dr. D’Agostino finishes by discussing how exogenous ketones work in the body of someone eating a Standard American Diet.

On Monday’s show, we interviewed patient Dan Chrestman. Dan used to weigh 485 lbs and was on 520 units of insulin for his type 2 diabetes. He has lost over 150 lbs and is off all his insulin. Dan discusses his journey and gives some encouraging advice to the listeners.

Dr. Leaf speaks to neuroplasticity and how the brain can actually change. As you think, your brain changes. Dr. Ben and Dr. Leaf discuss quantum physics, what it is, and how in the smallest part, everything is just a frequency of vibrations. Dr. Leaf ends her show by sharing some resources to help people take control of their mind.

In this episode Morley and Dr. Ben reinforce the idea that the very, very root cause of “disease” is metabolic chaos at the cellular level. They stress howAmerican’s have lost their resiliency and resistance to disease because the mitochondria get stuck in a low energy, pro-inflammatory mode.

On today’s show, Dr. Ben summarized the Wise Traditions Conference that he attended and spoke at this weekend. The focus of his talk was on the loss of resiliency and wisdom in our culture today. He began with a couple of stories from Nutrition and Physical Degeneration about a Native American who helped non-native people heal scurvy and xerophthalmia using animal products. These ancient practices were lost with the introduction of the love of money. He also gives some recent statistics of how much the health of Americans has declined and his opinion of why this has happened. Iron fortification leading to iron toxicity is the basis of much of this. There are several side effects to iron toxicity, which Dr. Ben discusses. Iron is important, and Dr. Ben discusses why. However, he also shares how incredibly efficient our body is in recycling it. During the second half of the show, Dr. Ben shares several studies pointing to the toxicity of excess iron in the body. He finishes the show by sharing copper’s role in regulating iron and how to increase the copper in your body.

Today, Dr. Ben interviews Dr. Thomas Cowan to visit about his new book that just came out, “Cancer and the New Biology of Water”. Dr. Ben begins the show with a quote from Dr. Cowan’s book that shows how fundamentally antagonistic doctors are today to truly treat disease. Dr. Cowan responds to that quote in explaining how this is a thought process brought on by a belief formed centuries ago that matter is all that exists. When you look at what makes up matter, you find that matter isn’t really all there is. Ironically, the bulk of matter is actually empty space. As long as doctors are focused on the ‘stuff’, they will continue to get poor outcomes. Dr. Cowan gives a little background on why he wrote the book and describes the cause of cancer, how poor the outcomes of treatments are, and explains why. The problem isn’t in the nucleus; it’s in the cytoplasm. He likens it to looking for your keys under the street light (because the light is better) when you actually lost them in the bushes. Dr. Cowan touches on his thoughts on the brca gene. Studies show that the prognosis is basically equal for people who have it as people who don’t have it. The problem isn’t actually the gene at all. Again, it’s the cytoplasm. After the break, Dr. Cowan discusses the 4th stage of water, structured water. He goes on to explain how all of the things we classify as ‘disease’, including cancer, is actually a problem with the structure and integrity of the water in the cell. Cells have a charge around them that help them repel each other and keep their distance. When the water in the cell is messed up, the cell loses it’s charge, allowing several cells to pile upon each other, without distance. Many things can change this gel-like water, including food, environment, and even thoughts. Dr. Cowan delves deep in exactly how this happens. He finishes the show by describing how a few different modalities that people do work in re-structuring the water in the cell.

On today’s show Dr. Edwards interviews Dr. Elizabeth Plourde, PhD about the harmful affects of man-made electromagnetic frequencies (EMF’s). Dr. Plourde’s book, EMF Freedom: Solutions for the 21st Century Pollution, which was recently awarded “the best environmental book of the year” and features over 400 references, is a greater resource to learn more about the harmful affects of these man-made frequencies. In this episode, Dr. Plourde describes her own journey to overcome emf toxicity. On today’s show, Dr. Ben interviews Neil Z. Miller, author of Miller’s Review of Critical Vaccine Studies. The goal of this show is to offer true, informed consent to the listeners. Neil begins the show by sharing what led him to become one of the world’s leading vaccine researchers. He also shares some facts about the current vaccine schedule in the U.S. and how vaccines have never been studied in combined form, the form in which they’re given. Synergistic toxicity becomes a problem here. Dr. Ben explains how the original idea for vaccines could have been a good idea. However, you can’t just mix a little live virus with saline. You have to add adjuvants, like aluminum, in order to stimulate the immune system. Most of the adjuvant amounts in vaccines far exceed the recommended safe daily limit. Mercury being present in vaccines is a hotly debated topic. Neil explains how and why mercury is still present in many of the vaccines today. Neil gives some information on a study done by the CDC’s lead epidemiologist on the mercury in vaccines and how he found that kids are 7.6 times at greater risk of getting autism when given a vaccine with mercury. Chad Wall, a local pioneer researching how hydration impacts farming and ranching, comes in during the second half of the show. Chad explains the importance of regenerating the farming and ranching practices so they steward the land and animals better.
