The Temple Curtain was Torn in Two
At the moment of Jesus’ death, the Temple curtain was torn in two from the top to the bottom. What was the significance of this dramatic, supernatural event?

When I Am Lifted Up
In John 12:32, Jesus says, “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” I get exactly what He means. There is something unusually compelling about His manner of death. It is even more moving than the many miracles. Many charlatans seek to mimic Christ’s miracles, yet none seek to emulate they way He sacrificed His life, and yet that is exactly what He instructs us to do.

Matthew 27:55-66; 28 (Fear Not, He is Risen)
I usually write an introduction to pique the interest of potential viewers explaining why the material covered is of importance, but in this case Paul already covered it perfectly: “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.” – 1 Corinthians 15:17-19

Psalm Twenty-Two
I tend to constantly go back to Isaiah 53 as the most remarkable account of the crucifixion in all of Scripture because it was written 700 years before it occurred, but Psalm 22 is equally remarkable having been written another 300 years before that, long before crucifixion even existed. Let us read it and get the full impact of Christ’s cry from the cross, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

Won’t Believe Even if Someone Rises from the Dead
It’s one thing when I debate with atheist who claim that their lack of belief is from lack of evidence, but it is something altogether strange when I see those professing Christians who adore free will more than they honor the Word of God by saying that people’s choice to follow the Lord is anything less than a miraculous work of the Holy Spirit. The most educated religious scholars of the day witnessed Christ’s miracles first-hand and personally participated in the fulfillment of prophesy, and yet they still did not believe. Faith is not a matter of evidence or of the mind, it is a matter of a regenerated heart. Only those who God personally call to Him clearly hear His voice.

Particular Atonement
Arminians accuse Calvinists of being cold in their theology because they have a very different concept of love. The Arminian view is much more of a hippie love fest kind of view. The Calvinist has a much more personal, intimate view of love. The doctrine of Particular (aka Limited) Atonement is probably the one which most offends anti-Calvinist sensibilities. They think it makes Christ unloving if He died only for His elect. I assert that it makes His love that much more intense, profound, and meaningful.

Why Did Jesus Refuse the Wine at the Cross
Jesus was offered wine mixed with myrrh, but He refused to drink it. Here I will explore why. The more interesting question, though, isn’t, “Why did he refuse to drink the cup offered”, but, “What cup did He accept?” He drank your poison for you.

Why Couldn’t Jesus Carry His Cross?
Despite how scrawny Jesus is in several depictions, being raised by a carpenter and then hanging out with fisherman, I doubt he was a waif. That said, He was unable to carry His cross and the Romans needed to recruit Simon to help carry it for Him. Why?

You will Kneel Before Christ or Caesar
In Matthew 6:24, Jesus says, “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.” It is displayed perfectly here. The Roman Response to Christ
If you think the Romans are supposed to represent pure evil, you miss the point. They are no more villainous than the average person. The problem is that they behave exactly like the average person, not just in the secular world, but like those within the church as well. They Knew He Wasn’t an Average Prisoner
We are usually presented with the idea that the Romans were just particularly cruel and that Jesus was just another insignificant prisoner to them. I don’t really believe this to be so. I begin my refutation of that here, but it gets much deeper in the rest of Matthew 27:27-54 “Truly this was the Son of God!” at https://rumble.com/veurm5-matthew-2727-54-truly-this-was-the-son-of-god.html.

Matthew 27:27-54 “Truly this was the Son of God!”
This is the hardest section to cover because it is so personal. Our entire faith is centered around the cross and Christ’s substitutionary atonement. In this I address two different schools of soteriology, which are based on two different concepts of love. I will explore why I believe the correct Biblical view has such a deeper impact than the pop-culture version we hear more often today.
