This week I interviewed Brent Tomberlin, a high school social studies teacher, swim coach, and a column writer for our local paper, The Hickory Daily Record. I connected with Brent when I commented on one of his articles in the Record. I was impressed on how Brent responded to my comments and how he approaches his writings. Don't miss it.

With all the division, violence, betrayals, and confusion, it's easy to get bogged down in your business and your personal life. You cannot ignore what's going on around us. Politics is a dirty word for many. And it has changed very much over the years. What has changed and why? What has it become? Tonight I'll clarify some differences and what I think politics should look like in an ideal world. I can't believe we are tolerating some of the stuff we're seeing today. And no, it's not just about Trump.

There are three grifts, money grabs, agendas, that keep hammering away at Americans. It's time to expose them for what they are. Two have been around for awhile. I've just realized how the third one plays. Also, I actually heard of one common sense law that could help keep us safer. Even my wife agrees with me... wow. NOTE: I've moved this week's show to Tuesday so we can all enjoy our Memorial Day with family and loved ones remembering those who gave their lives for this country.

You may have heard it said that your attitude determines your altitude. That is so true. I did a podcast this last week with a man who is totally blind. It was one of the most inspirational interviews I've ever done. I'll fill you in on that and also lay out some very important questions for you to be asking as we move into May.

Why? There are so many questions about so many things. Life sometimes seems like we're driving in a fog. At others you think everyone else is driving in a fog. Check in tonight as Coach Mike tries to clear away some of the Fog.

If you've been paying attention at all to news, social media, etc., you have probably heard various people talk about EQUITY. Wait a minute. Don't you mean EQUALITY? Ah... for years we've heard a constant drum beat about Equal Rights for this group or that group. But now they are slipping in the word EQUITY. There is a difference and it's a difference you need to be aware of. You need to be VERY AWARE!

Politicians love to dance around the truth, especially those on the Left. And Right or Left, many are good and not answering the questions posed to them. With the hot topics of abortion and gun control front and center this week, I will walk you through the ingredients in their word salads so you don't miss what they really want to say. Plus my Business Tip of the Week.

Tonight on my show I'm going to be asking some questions. I want you to think. I want you to ask yourself the same questions and while doing so repeat the question using someone else's name in the subject. Or repeat asking the same question as it applies to different parties. Here are some of the questions. I hope you'll tune in at 8 PM. You can answer here also. (show details are in earlier post.) Is it OK to cheat on a test? If your answer is YES, when and/or why? Is it OK to lie directly to someone? If your answer is YES, when and/or why? Is it RIGHT or WRONG for your state to pass laws for your state? What laws should be dictated by the Federal Government? Can you name the three branches of the Federal Government? Do you believe that it is the Federal Government’s obligation to provide laws and hire people to enforce those laws that keep all the states safe from foreign enemies? Does France have the right to protect its borders and choose to allow only those people they want to enter into France? Does Russia have the right to protect its borders and choose to allow only those people they want to enter into Russia? Does the United States of America have the right to protect its borders and choose to allow only those people they want to enter into the United States of America? Is it RIGHT or WRONG for a government official, whether elected or appointed, to lie, whether to a few people or to the whole country? Is it Right or WRONG for someone to lie about that government official, especially in anything that is said or printed in public? Do you believe there was election fraud during the 2020 election? If your answer is YES, describe what you think the fraud was. If someone had harmed you or your family, and they were arrested and went to court, and you found out that one of the jurors was someone who’s child played on the same team as the child of the person who harmed you, do you think that is RIGHT? Is it hypocritical for a political opponent to trash talk another opponent during primary elections or debates, then later say the opposite about that opponent in public?

Whether you are discussing politics, religion, business, or just about anything else, little things matter. If we want things to get better, we can't just expect Washington to do it for us. This is the reason big government is bad. Many of us have abdicated our responsibility to keep things right because we have false expectations of those we vote for.
