wet forming leather for a lighter case
in this video i wet form a piece of leather to make a leather lighter case.
here's a couple tips on doing it
1. when wetting the leather saturate it to where it changes to a shade darker, do a couple of them and you start to see how much water it can absorb.
2. using those metal clips makes a nice little indent in the leather that sticks around for awhile that you can use as a guide for when you punch the holes for sewing.

how to use a stitching punch to make sewing holes in leather
in this video i show you how to use a stitching punch for making holes in leather. in this example im getting ready to make a lighter case. in the previous video i wet formed the piece, now it's dry and ready to go. a couple tips
1. the metal clips from wet forming left a nice line to follow, line your punch up to follow it, i like to put one tine of the punch on the edge of the leather as a starting guide, it helps keep the holes in line.
2. after the first initial punch i like to keep two tines in holes already punched, it helps keep your stitch line nice and straight.
3. when punching the holes, rolling the pressure from one side of the punch to the other while punching will help you ensure consistency with the holes, while using less thwacks of your hammer
