R.G. Yoho is the author of thirteen books, eight of them westerns. In addition, he is a biographer and the nation's foremost authority on the life of Charles E. Lively, notorious coal mine spy and killer, in the early Twentieth Century.

Yoho profiled Lively in his biography, "The Nine Lives of Charles E. Lively, The Deadliest Man in the West-Virginia Coal Mine Wars."

R.G. is married to his wife for 42 years and has three children, a nephew who is like a son, and ten grandchildren.
