Ave Maria - responsorium brevis, Tempore Paschali
5 / 100 days of Gregorian Chant
I've included an audio description on the end of the recording, where I describe the Brief Responsory or Responsorium Brevis.
The translation is a well known one:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee (Alleluia, Alleluia)
Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb (Alleluia, Alleluia)
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
You can find the sheet music on Gregobase at https://gregobase.selapa.net/chant.php?id=4061

Dixit Jesus matri suae
Today is the First Saturday of May. Some places will celebrate a Votive Mass of the Immaculate Heart of Mary today in accordance with Our Lady's request to Sr Lucia of Fatima.
The Latin roughly translates as:
Jesus said to his mother: Woman, behold thy son; and then he said to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour the disciple accepted her in his. Alleluia.

Servant of God John Bradburne sings Vespers from the Little Office
John Bradburne, the Vagabond of God cared for the leprosy patients of Mutemwa for about ten years before being killed in Zimbabwe's turbulent times. He was a tertiary Franciscans who prayed the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary every day.
He also had a tape recorder and recorded himself speaking and singing.
The recordings of the Little Office are not complete, but show that he sang most of the hours Recto Tono and used popular tunes for the hymns and canticles.

Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Ad Sextam, Per Annum (Office 1)
Someone requested an earlier video re-edited with images of the music rather than watching my face. I outsourced the editing to my son and he did a stellar job. It's a very short video.
You might hear some screeching sulphur crested cockatoos in the background. Someone wondered if it was the sound of monkeys, but no.

Epiphany Proclamation 2022
Each year I typeset the Epiphany Proclamation. I've been doing this since 2003. I don't usually sing it, but seemed like a good idea to give it a go.
This is sort of a very old fashioned way for people to get the official liturgical year dates each year. Some feasts, like Christmas, have fixed dates, while some feasts depend on the date for Easter which has a really interesting history of how the dates are determined. Most of the feasts here can be extrapolated from that Easter date with the exception of the First Sunday of Advent which is four Sundays before 25 December.
You can download this pdf and every other pdf since 2003 here on my webpage:

Terce - mid-morning prayer
I took the chance to record Terce with one of my children. This is pretty much how you would sing Terce for most of the year - outside of Advent, Christmas and Lent. And the difference with Lent is very minor.

Matins: Invitatory from the Office of the Dead
Part of an ongoing work to typeset and record the Office of the Dead:
https://dead.brandt.id.au
I stayed up late recording Matins, all three nocturns, nearly two hours of audio. Here's the first part - the Invitatory - Psalm 94.
My impression is that the monks would often run late for Matins as getting up in the middle of the night is a herculean task. So, to give them a little 5 minute grace period, they would always start with Psalm 94, which is kind of a combination of "Come, let us adore Him" and "God's been really patient with us, this is the least we can do to thank Him". I'm happy to hear if you have any other views on the role of the Invitatory.
In the modern day Liturgy of the Hours, the Invitatory has become an independent piece to be sung at the beginning of whatever hour you say first in a day.
You notice the short antiphon is repeated between each stanza. The cantor would lead with the antiphon, then everyone would repeat it (that's why I sing it twice at the beginning), then the cantor sing the verses and every join in on the antiphons. The Liber and other books only give the first few notes of the Antiphon to start you off, but to make this really easy, I've pasted the full music on the screen, so I hope I hear you singing along with me!

Domine, non sum dignus - how to say it and roughly what it means
3:35 - we finally say it through slowly as originally requested.
This question arises when you start going to a Latin Mass - just before Communion, the priest turns around, holding up the Blessed Sacrament, and he says: "Ecce Agnus Dei, Ecce qui tollit peccata mundi" and then the whole church erupts in a usually rather mumbled version of "Domine, non sum dignus ut intres sub tectum meum, sed tantum dic verbo et sanabitur anima mea." (once at a Novus Ordo Latin Mass, three times for those using earlier ordos)

Sext from the Office of the Dead sung in Gregorian Chant
Officium Defunctorum Ad Sextam
For more information plus downloadable booklets see my website:
https://dead.brandt.id.au
Sometimes devotional books include the Office of the Dead, but they only include the Major Hours: Matins, Lauds and Vespers. I'm going from the Office for All Souls Day. We had the custom of praying Compline from All Souls Day after any evening Requiem Mass, so I am assuming it applies to all the minor hours too.

O Gloriosa Virginum - Lauds hymn from the Little Office
This hymn is also the Lauds hymn for the feast of the Immaculate Conception (8th December) - you can find it on page 1314 in your Liber Usualis.

A few people have contacted me to say I should make simpler videos, just the singing with the sheet music on the screen.
O gloriosa virginum,
Sublimis inter sidera,
Qui te creavit, parvulum,
Lactente nutris ubere.
Quod Heva tristis abstulit,
Tu reddis almo germine:
Intrent ut astra flebiles,
Caeli recludis cardines.
Tu Regis alti janua
Et aula lucis fulgida:
Vitam datam per Virginem,
Gentes redemptae, plaudite.
Jesu, tibi sit gloria,
Qui natus es de Virgine,
Cum Patre, et almo Spiritu,
In sempiterna saecula. Amen.
In English:
O Queen of all the Virgin choir,
Enthroned above the starry sky;
Who with pure milk from thy own breast
Thy own Creator didst supply.
What man hath lost in hapless Eve,
Thy sacred womb to man restores;
Thou to the sorrowing here beneath
Hast open’d Heaven’s eternal doors.
Hail, O refulgent Hall of light!
Hail, Gate sublime of Heaven’s high King!
Through thee redeem’d to endless life,
Thy praise let all the nations sing.
O Jesu! born of Virgin bright,
Immortal glory be to Thee;
Praise to the Father infinite,
And Holy Ghost eternally.
