Wtf? Nature Valley Bars
🌳 NATURE VALLEY BARS 🍫
Go beyond the advertising that they give you on the front label! The marketing has you thinking that this is a healthy brand with all the colors, the pictures of fields, and the labeling. I see so many offices and break rooms with these snacks stocked up.
If you follow this channel, you are BETTER than that!
Little do people know this “healthy” product has too much sugar, seed oils, and soy filler (in soy lecithin).
This product is a NO for me!

WHERE'S THE TRASH FOOD? Ep. 1 - U.S. Supermarket
Welcome to the "Where's the Trash Food" Project, where I journey worldwide to explore food through the lens of health and nutrition. Food is the cornerstone of all cultures, providing a unique perspective on how different cultures thrive. My first destination will be Texas, in the United States, as we navigate the shelves of a well-known supermarket chain. We uncover some harsh realities of the dark underbelly of the American food industry.
I will create more content like this from all my travels, including destinations such as Taipei, Tbilisi, and Dubai. If you like the video, subscribe to the channel, as it helps us out a ton! If you have any suggestions on what I should cover in my future videos, drop me a comment. I read every single one! Enjoy the video!

Childhood Obesity
👶 CHILDHOOD OBESITY 👶
Childhood obesity is on the rise in the U.S., and this should alarm the everyone!
The new narrative is that obesity is genetic. Yes, obesity can run in families, but is it really due to passing on genes? ❓
There are RARE diseases that have a high propensity towards obesity. However, that is not a typical case of obesity. There are countless examples of people eating properly, exercising, and working their way out of obesity, even when other members of their families are obese.
What else could be the reason besides genetics? Are these families eating the same foods? ❓
One or two people are responsible for buying the food and feeding the rest of the family. (Don't forget school lunches!) The children often do not purchase any of the foods they eat.
How can we get to meaningful solutions if we cannot address the correct problems? Question❓

Wtf? Pop Tarts
🙅♂️ POP-TARTS 🙅
If there was a food that you can say is part of American culture, this could be one of them. 😂
A significant part of any culture is the food the people eat…
Pop-Tarts are a popular food amongst children. They have sweet filling inside a warm crust. I remember eating this as a child, and I loved it.
But is it really good for you?
In the video, I comment on all the problems with this product and why you should NOT feed it to kids. Children need the best nutrients to grow to their full potential, both mentally and physically.
The added sugar, seed oils, and high fructose corn syrup rule this out for me.
Even though there are added vitamins and minerals, that benefit is so small compared to the loads of sugar being fed.

Health Tactics
🏥 HEALTH TACTICS 🪖
In the internet age, we are bombarded with so many fads, buzzwords, and trends when it comes to health and fitness. The funny thing is that almost all of these tactics can improve your life when used properly. What I commonly see is that there is no overall strategy, which sets you up for failure.
It is one thing to have all the tools. However, if you do not know how to use them, then what good are they? They would just gather dust in your closet. You need a strategy behind how you approach everything in life, a nd that includes your health. The tools will become much more helpful when used the correct way.
How do you want to improve your body to get what you want in life?
That is an important question to answer for yourself because you will otherwise wander aimlessly and just get caught up in the next fad of the month.
Doctors should be the Chief Strategy Officer for your health. You are the CEO. We help develop your vision. And, as the CEO, you make the final decisions and execute.

High Fructose Corn Syrup
🍎 HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP 🥞
This post aims to educate everyone on how food in the supermarket is marketed. There are no intentions of ridiculing any person or group of people. I believe the best way to change society is to educate rather than ridicule.
High-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is an artificial sugar made from corn syrup (55% fructose, 45% glucose). In excessive amounts, calories from fructose get stored as fat. Fructose from fruits, in moderation, gets digested slowly due to the mix of fiber and water. Thus, our metabolism can handle it without much issue. However, high quantities of fructose, particularly HFCS, can trick our bodies into thinking we are still hungry. Any excess will shunted into the liver and end up as fat. This phenomenon is why we tend to say, “Do not drink your calories,” regarding fruit smoothies. You can overload your system with fructose and calories you may not need. Having a large amount of fructose in your diet chronically can lead to fatty liver and diabetes
When it comes to sugar as a whole, I recommend as low as possible if you need to drop weight or fat. The added sugars can be insidious if you are not paying attention to your food packaging. Be mindful of these ingredients and numbers to avoid the sugar trap.

My Best Doctor Role Model
👨⚕️ MY BEST DOCTOR ROLE MODEL 🩺
The doctor I ended up respecting the most was my primary care doctor in college. I appreciated his wisdom later in my career after I had left his practice. However, I remember how good he was at asking the right questions to understand my sickness.
This approach shaped my career as a doctor and the rest of my life. We will never know all the answers. However, the right questions will lead to finding the solutions to give us what we want. Pursuing those answers allows us to buy into them to support or oppose our original thinking.
We have become too accustomed to being fed the “facts” as gospel. Numerous “facts” pushed by the governing associations were completely disproved years later. The only way this could be done is to continue asking the questions. 🤔

Reading Food Labels
📖 🍒 READING FOOD LABELS 🥧 🏷️
Be mindful of food labels. The purpose is to get you to buy the product as quickly as possible. Know that the companies will put as many positive aspects of the product as possible on the front label.
There are so many buzzwords out there that attract people.
“Gluten-free”
“Zero calories”
“Low fat”
Ask yourself this question, “What are they not telling me?”
The back of the label tells you all the ingredients. However, because so much information is needed to state all the ingredients and warnings, the text is often tiny.
Consumers should know everything that they put in their bodies. Yet, we often succumb to quick advertising and frequently miss the red flags. 🚩
Stay tuned as I guide you through how to make some sense of these labels so you can make better choices.

Wtf? U.S Supermarket
🍟 WHERE’S THE TRASH FOOD (WTF) SERIES 🤬
We will be going to various places worldwide to examine the food we eat. What I find may shock you or pique your curiosity further.
It is essential to know what you put in your body so you can optimize it to the maximum. Would you want to put bad oil and gas in your car? Why would you want to put bad food in your body?
Enjoy!

BS*H NEWS Ep. 2 - Kellogg's: "Cereal for Dinner" campaign is here!
BULLSH** HEALTH NEWS EPISODE 2
This clip from the CEO of Kellogg's reminds me of a quote from the tales of the French Revolution, "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche," which translates to "let them eat cake." This quote expresses the absolute disregard French royalty had for the starving peasants.
The peasants ("families under pressure") have no dinner, so "Let them eat cereal!"
Let's find every way to get another dime out of struggling families' pockets while also making them sicker at the same time.
You can check out the video where I talk about why cereals are terrible for you here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4YgnFYuM8M/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Follow the money! With all that has gone on in the last decade, you wonder if the health insurance companies or hospitals were involved in this campaign.
Side note: By the way, historians believe that Marie Antoinette did not say the famous quote, "Let them eat cake," which is commonly taught in history classes." It was thought to have been said by a different princess.

Fat Doctors
🫃FAT DOCTORS 👨⚕️
No doctor should be obese.
Would you go to a dentist with rotten teeth?
Would you go to a beggar for financial advice?
Then why would you go to an obese doctor to get healthier?
Every doctor should know the complications of obesity to the point that they would not want that for themselves. How could you listen to people telling you to lose weight when they show that they do not practice what they preach?
As a patient and a consumer of the healthcare system, you deserve better.

Inflammation Season
🤒 INFLAMMATION SEASON 😷
Is it a coincidence that infection season happens during the winter months?
Patients flood the hospitals for the worst cases of influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, and other infections that cause fevers, body aches, dehydration, and, if severe enough, death.
We often think this is because of the colder, drier weather or the decreased sunlight. However, the death rates tend to be higher in southeastern states where the temperatures are less extreme in the winter.
In the U.S., we commonly celebrate holidays by binging on sugar: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and even Valentine’s Day. People share desserts full of processed sugar, seed oils, and colors on all these holidays.
Do you still think this is a coincidence?
The true beauty of science is that there will always be more questions to ask.

Beware of Tap Water
‼️🚫 BEWARE OF TAP WATER 🚫‼️
Tap water can have heavy metals and bacteria.
But did you know that your unfiltered tap water can affect your hormones?
Atrazine, a common herbicide used in the U.S., is known to be an estrogenic compound with a long half-life in soil and high levels found in water.
EE2 is found in birth control pills. With the exponentially increased use of the birth control pill, EE2 cycles into the water supply from the excess urine byproducts mixed into the septic system.
Phthalates is an estrogenic compound commonly found in personal care products, detergents, plastics, and building materials.
How do we prevent ingesting these toxins when they are difficult to filter out of water?
Follow us @cmf.ironforge for the continuation of this post!

BS*H NEWS Ep. 1 - AHA: "8-hour time-restricted eating linked to higher risk of cardiovascular death"
BULLSH** HEALTH NEWS EPISODE 1
Time-restricted eating (aka intermittent fasting) is now being demonized by the AHA where real studies have been showing numerous benefits including better glucose control, decreased waist circumference, and increased free fat mass (fat mass that is available to burn energy).
When you look into what the AHA declares as evidence, you will see that they use the weakest form of scientific evidence possible, a survey. Surveys are helpful to form hypotheses, but are not at all helpful in proving any points. Yet, this is what the AHA brings forward to the table.
Whenever something does not seem right, don't just take it for face value. Dig a little deeper and you will find the truth!
