Nitrous Tunnel Ram 302 Engine Build! | Piston To Valve Clearance | Oil Ring Mods | Build Updates
more progress is being made on our 302 engine build for the 1965 ford mustang "Iron Horse".
crankshaft is in, camshaft is in, oil pan is mocked up, timing chain is in, timing chain cover is mocked up, windage tray is mocked up, and crank scraper is mocked up!
now we are looking at the pistons, I have all the rings filed / gapped for nitrous and I did an oil expander ring mod to give us less friction!
but it is time to finally figure out our piston to valve clearance issues and settle them!

302w SBF Engine Build! | Progress Has Been Made! | 1965 Mustang Motor Coming Together | Piston Issue
we finally get started on the long awaited 302 windsor sbf engine build! this motor will be for our 1965 ford mustang "The Iron Horse" and it has been a struggle that always boils down to this.
our AFR (Air Fuel Research) 165 Renegade Cylinder Heads with the bigger 2.02 intake valves will not work with stock syle pistons because of the small valve reliefs. so I had been attempting to just slap some iron heads on this build to just get something up and running. well unfortunately machine shop costs are through the roof! so now I am biting the bullet and just going to spring for new pistons.

J&B Weld Holley Carburetor Mods!? | Will It Flow More CFM | Holley Performance | Modified Carburetor
Holley 600cfm XMC Carburetor Project! J&B Weld Mod Edition 👌
so here it is! the end of our step 2 modifications to our holley carburetor flow bench test muel. so first of all we completely filled this thing full of J&B Weld Epoxy and ported it out to a fairly streamline and radius entry. then we worked on the straight leg boosters by removing the cross bar from the middle, sharpening the edges, and flaring out the bottom to hopefully gain more cfm while remaining booster signal.
finally we go over the accelerator pump discharge circuit were we drilled and tapped it to accept an adjustable air bleed. and as for the air bleeds we addressed moving them to the metering block itself or making a new path out the side of the carburetor main body for it.
so all in all what do you think it will do? flow more? flow less? well it is getting shipped to @josephnowak to find out!

Holley Carburetor Straight Leg Booster Mods! | Project XMC Flow Bench Testing | How To Customize!
continuation on our holley carburetor project XMC flow bench channel collaboration build!
I go over the straight leg booster modifications I have made in order to gain mor cfm on the flow bench!
also I talk about the future plans for our holley 600cfm vacuum secondary carburetor test muel. I have dicided to not put on the 750cfm baseplate onto our main body just yet in stage 2. instead I want to see what all these mods we have done with the boosters and the J&B Weld have to offer on there own.
if we put the larger baseplate on now then we would lose out on all that data. also I am curious to see if booster signal has dropped at all with removing and porting the crossbar out of our holley boosters.
lastly I wish to do an experiment on whether or not the new bellmouth velocity stacks can outperform the old traditional carburetor stacks.

J&B Weld Holley Carburetor Mods? | More Performance Carburetor Tuning tricks | How to Gain More CFM!
• Holley 600 Carburetor | Choke Horn De... Joseph's video
• Project XMC: Flow Bench Testing Gains... XMC Last Video
following up on our XMC Carburetor flow testing project we are doing in collaboration with @josephnowak
we are filling our 600 cfm holley carburetor full of J&B Weld Epoxy in pursuit of performance! how so? well by redirecting the airflow going into the carburetor we are hoping to improve booster signal and velocity and overall cfm flowing through it. and we are redirecting the airflow by putting J&B weld into all the dead areas of the carburetor smoothing airflow giving the top of the carburetor a nice radius entry.
now in order to do this we needed to figure out a work around with the accelerator pump discharge nozzle....since it is now permanently impeded into the carburetor now.
well I figured that the main purpose of the discharge nozzle is to restrict fuel flow through an orifice.....so instead of adjusting the orifice of the nozzle of the squirter I drilled and tapped the circuit of the accelerator pump itself to accept an air-bleed jet so I can adjust fuel flow of the circuit itself! .....which I believe will work in the same way?
lots more work to do!

Project XMC: Flow Bench Testing Gains Over 80CFM!! | Holley Carburetor Mods | Removed Choke Tower
project XMC stage 1 flow numbers are in from @josephnowak and all I can say is WOW IMPRESSIVE!
• Holley 600 Carburetor | Choke Horn De...
be sure to watch this video to get the full flow testing and results!
and that was the very minimal amount of carburetor modification we could have done, just cut the choke tower off, radius the entry, knife edge the butterflies, and thin the throttle shafts.....that was it!
but now it is time for stage 2 to start..and it is going to put the X-tream in XMC. we are going to J&B weld the entire entrance of the carburetor and make our own! then we are going to hone out the bottom of the venturi bores to accept the larger 750cfm baseplate, and lastly we are going to replace the stock pressed in air bleeds with screw in....but not on the main body....on the Metering Block Itself!

How To Choose The Right Size Carburetor! | Booster Signal Is Key! | Its Not The Size Its The Signal!
What size carburetor do you run on your engine!? Well that is a question as old as carburetors themselves isn't it? Its a question that really has about a million answers to it and non of them seem to agree with eachother. In this video I will go over and break down exactly what it is you should look for when picking a carburetor for your engine! we will go over the way the carburetors meter fuel and why they tend to loose BOOSTER SIGNAL when going with more cfm as compared to a smaller carburetor. we will also go over how you can improve your booster signal to be able to take advantage of having a bigger carburetor on your engine, and why that might make more power!
now everything in the video is based on my own understanding of exactly how this stuff works.....and I am no expert! that is why I am asking for more content creators to put there hats in the ring and help answer this all important question.

302 Windsor Engine Build Final Plans! | Fixing Your Car Absolutely Free | And Nitrous Tunnel Rams!!
welp the ford explorer finally puked on me, tried to throw me into oncoming traffic and off the ditch so I guess its time to fix her up! and by fix her up I mean take it in for scrap money 💰 because that is by far the best choice I could have made.
also new stuff happening with the 302 sbf windsor engine build with its dual quad holley double pumpers and dual nitrous injected plate systems! we are taking the E7 heads we ported and polished in to get its valve job done. we will be running the E7 heads along with the forged pistons we got from Nick with an anderson N41 camshaft!
all we need now is everything else and we will be good to go!

Gear Ratio! | What Does It Mean? | How To Choose Axle Gear Ratio For Best Performance! | New Parts!
we are running with the big boys now! lol
I just picked up a 4.10 ford 8in center section / third member for the "Iron Horse" our 1965 ford mustang.
it has the heavy duty built up case with extra metal in all the right places to handle what our new engine build (our tunnel ram, nitrous, 302 based windsor sbf engine) can throw at it! .......hopefully.
in this video I will go over the differences of axle gear ratio and how they differ from eachother, how to calculate rpm and mph with different ratios, and how to best select a gear ratio for your hotrod!
I also give a sneak peak on another new part I picked up that is going to solve our rear rubber problems 😁

2024 Updates | New Parts | What Plans Do We Have For The Return Of The 1965 Mustang "Iron Horse"
I got some new stuff for the car finally!
going over the upgrades and future plans for our 1965 ford mustang "the iron horse" as it sleeps in deep hibernation this winter.
I picked up a set of 4.10 gears for our 8" rear end that has welded spider gears so we will be full locking posi!
in addition to new gears we will also be changing out the tourqe converter for a 3k-3.5k stall converter so we can hopefully get this thing to JUMP off the line!
the tunnel ram sbf (small block ford) windsor is still a work in progress, but we did get new Tri-Y headers for it so....that is good!
and lastly we might have our back tire situation solved with new wheels and Mickey Thompson slicks!
but before we discuss all of that awsome new development we have something to do.....we finally got one of the project xmc carburetors shipped off to Joseph Nowak for the next phase of testing!

Tri-Y Headers! | What Advantages Dose This Old-School Look Have To Offer? | New Exhaust System!
https://www.gstpautoparts.com/product...
the Tri-Y header is an old school header design! but does this design have any advantages compared to the more widespread long tube header?
well in our case it just might! the 1965 mustang has shock towers which restrict the size of primary tube we can fit on our sbf 302 based windsor engine. but with the Tri-Y header we are able to combine two of the tubes together in order to create a bigger primary tube that takes up less space. but the true test will be once we can get them on an engine and into the car to really see if that is the way it will pan out!

Broken Bowie Knife...Can We Save It!? | Fixing My Custom Bowie | Knife Showcase | Self Defense Kife!
doing something a bit unusual for the channel!
we are taking a brake from car stuff like carburetors, engines, the mustang and all that...
we are going to try and fix my old favorite bowie knife that has been broken for years! it is a custom cold steel Laredo bowie that had a custom handle put on it. and it even has a copy of Jim Bowie's knife guard that he had at the Alimo.
we need to try and reattach the broken pices of the walnut handle and even fill in a big void were pices are missing....all while trying to make it look good still.
can we manage to bring this knife back to its original glory? mabey... and I even show off some of my other knives while we are at it, and even whip out my colt 45 revolver too.
very different content than we are used to lol.

hey! the channel actually has a sponsor! Auxito LED Lights has given me the opportunity to give you guys a 15% off discount code if you are in need of some blinding lights!
now I wasn't about to put them on my 1965 mustang but they are so far working really well on the old daily driver ford explorer.
we replace our existing headlights with these fancy space age ones to get a good comparison of how bright they are compared to my original mismatched set of expensive and dirt cheap headlights.....well the results are in and frankly I blew out my retinas just testing them 😂
they are bright!
we also do some carburetor updates and project updates overall, not too much happening with them as of yet because of the big project I have behind the scenes that is taking up a lot of my free time!

Carburetor Baseplate Upgrades | Project XMC | What Will This Show Us On The Flow Bench? | Holley
today we finish up our collaboration carburetor with @josephnowak by doing the baseplate modifications to our 600cfm holley carburetor, and tidy up all the ruff ledges and burs around the main body.
we knife edge the butterflies and thin down the throttle shafts a little bit in the hopes of gaining more cfm on the flow bench!
then we assemble our modified carburetor back together so we can send it off and see the results of our efforts and to truly see what these common modifications are really worth!
now this is step 1 of the XMC (X-treamly Modified Carburetor) project were we are looking to build the ultimate carburetor! in this step we are simply doing what anyone would do to there carburetors...starting with the basics. after this we move onto a little more outside the box thinking.
