#limitless #motivation #2010s #2010snostalgia #acting #filmmaking #actingtechnique #actorslife #filmmaker #audition #monologue #selftapes I first saw the 2011 film Limitless (staring Bradley Cooper) about a decade ago... and since I saw it, its been a constant source of motivation, and hope. While the protagonist is involved in shady dealings... the macguffin of it all is this magic pill which allows the user to have automatic, off the scale, genius level IQ. It allows them instant recall, of any event in their life, and the ability to leverage that information perfectly, in real time. The amazing part is what he does with that ability. Basically, the first thing he decides to do, when granted these abilities is clean his apartment, and then work out. The pill gives him the information, but he still needs to go through the motions to get what he wants. And that's what it boils down to. The magic pill is work. Its putting one foot in front of the other. Obviously, its not that simple, obviously this is a work of science fiction... but what if it could be that simple. What if we just always made ourselves do exactly what we ourselves believe we should be doing, every moment of everyday. Would your productivity go up? Where would you be in a month? In a year? In 10 years? The film just makes me think. And I'm choosing to honor it, this Sunday (March 24th), on my youtube "Monologue Mania," where I will be putting up a monologue from the movie limitless. I hope I do it justice. I hope you checkout and like. Definitely check out the film if you haven't. It is amazing. It does feature some adult themes. I hope you all have a great day.
