Spheres (1969) Rescore by Davide Croci
This animated short film by Norman McLaren and Renè Jodoin is a game of movements set against an iridescent and multicolored sky background. Spheres of translucent pearl float weightlessly in the sky, grouping together or colliding as in a chain reaction. The movement of the protagonist spheres follows the original soundtrack, set to a performance by J.S. Bach performed on the piano by Glenn Gould.
For the sound accompaniment I was inspired by the metaphysical concept of "music of the spheres", trying to create an atmosphere in some way of transcendental inspiration, while taking into account some moments in which the action of the protagonist spheres undergoes a certain acceleration ( and also a moment of "epic clash"). To achieve the goal, the choice was made to use synthetic elements and sound processing, with a marked diegesis on the movements and the background that changes the situation as the film unfolds.
There is no original foley or dialogue.

Le diable au couvent (1899) - Rescore by Davide Croci
Le diable au couvent (The Devil in the Convent) is a short film directed by Georges Méliès in 1899 (Star Film 169) in black and white. It uses an effect (trivial but for its interesting period) of appearance/disappearance of the characters. The proposed sound action, of a diegetic type, unfolds in different directions:
- the cyclical return of the interval of an excess fourth or tritone (the "diabolus in musica" which also recalls the theme of the film in its classic definition).
- harmonic minor scales performed at speed that give a certain type of tonal setting.
- the ironic cut, the symphonic approach (but with some surprise inserts and some quotes).
There is no original foley or dialogue.

My soundtrack of a short film from 1926.
The film has no plot, it is composed of a series of rotating optical discs, some with hypnotic images (non-concentric circles, spirals), others with sentences in French written in a spiral. There are nineteen discs in motion, ten composed of geometric figures and nine with nonsense phrases, such as puns and tongue twisters.

Melancholy (to RoDo)
A small musical tribute made by a streaming concert for the retirement of my Electronic Music and Electroacoustic teacher, Mo Roberto Doati. A series of sound elaborations (made with particular impulse responses, ring modulations, granulations and more) on a melody that tries to express a mood that emerged on this occasion, and a small but dutiful tribute to an excellent teacher and a great composer and musician.

Original music on "The Merchant of Venice" by O. Welles
The historical theme of Shakespeare calls to a sound setting of 1500-1600. The foley and sounds were not present in the original and it was appropriate to insert them. The soundtrack was created for leitmotives, each character has an identifying theme that accompanies its entry on the scene. In the contrast between the Merchant, an isolated and alone character, and everything else, a contrast has been put into practice as in the Concerto Grosso, with a small ensemble that underlines the solitary character of the Merchant as if he were a Concertino, in contrast to the orchestral ensemble at the entrance of everyone else.
