Proposed Minimum Requirement from Devs

The Devil Within: SATGAT Release April 9th 2024 in early access. The minimum Requirement are so vague, like a Quad Core CPU at 2.4Ghz and a 2GB memory GPU...But which one? So Today is a Proposed Minimum Requirement and a REAL minimum Requirement.

Frostpunk 2 BEta test is out this week (April 15 to 22), and they post pre-minimum requirement. So I'm testing those minimum requirement. A little bit lacking on details, like just saying i5 at 2.5Ghz and Ryzen 5, but let's find out.

Horizon Forbidden West is out since March 21st, and here I'm testing the proposed minimum requirement by the Dev. Which is Ryzen 3 1300x or i3-8100, which I don't have, but I do have a i5-4690, which in term of performance is right in between the 2 proposed CPU. It require 16G of Ram and a GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 5500XT. (I only have the GTX 1650)

I've been ask by a viewer about playing Helldivers 2 with an APU. So I decided to have a go with an APU. And that Vega 7 hold itself quite well...if you're willing to sacrifice resolution and visual quality. It's a "WIN" for the iGPU. Keep in mind I was playing on a clean Windows install with nothing running in the background. 16G of Ram is the minimum to reach 30+ FPS Ram used is clock at 3600MHz

Dragon's Dogma 2 Proposed Minimum Requirement are HIGH, I mean really high, it ask a 10th gen i5 from intel to play for minimum requirement, and to only get 30 FPS at that. So I've try.

Palworld is hit and today's video we check some 2GB cards, since the propose GPU is the GTX 1050 2GB, which is a card I don't have. I'm testing all my 2GB GPU I possess that can play Palworld.

A really nice guy made a MOD for Alan Wake 2 to add Vulkan API, making 6G VRAM card able to play the game. Here I tested the GTX980ti with Vulkan. The MOD is easy to install (But don't forget to disable Nvidia Overlay or the game crashes). I didn't test any AMD card, I don't have any recent enough GPU (6G VRAM or more).

Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game is out, and we check the Proposed Minimum Requirement. The CPU is totally wrong, the RAM is perfect and the GPU, they just throw some random GPU and said this is the minimum.

I revisited the Proposed minimum requirement, why? Because the requirement are played at 720p. I stopped 720p for 2024 because the majority of player are at 1080p. Apparently I'll continue at 720p for 2024, because that's where the proposed minimum requirement resides.

As per multiples viewers request, here is the Real Minimum Requirement but in ACT 3 which is heavier and harder for old and budget hardware. I've test the Proposed Minimum Requirement from Larian Studio and multiple old GPU and CPU. That will give a better idea of the play-ability of your old hardware. P.S. all test was done on a fresh Windows 10 install without bloatwares and generic Windows telemetry ON like an install from a Disk.

The Finals, this online PVP shooter proposed minimum requirement are right where it should be. For a FPS game, a shooter game, it is minimum 60FPS compared to other genre of game, even more if it's against other player. But Embark Studio nail almost dead center on the minimum requirement.

FSR2.2 arrived with patch 4. Let's gain some FPS with old GPU and play on older PC or with better graphic with the current setup

Here it comes, the BG3 REAL minimum Requirements. On the list of GPU test we go the GTX 750ti, GTX 950, GTX 960, GT 1030 (2 G DDR5 variant) and some fun with the GTX 980ti. CPU side, I went down to the 1st gen of i5 and i7 of Intel, older isn't supported at all. Disclaimer: 1 - Some test were done during the early access, results may differ a bit now. 2 - Some test were done before the Nvidia driver update 536.99 which include BG3. 3 - All test were done from an SSD. (video upcoming on storage). 4 - I don't have every existing GPU and CPU platform, other winning composition exist. 5 - The quantity of bloatware you have on your PC will affect your performance, test done were from a fresh Windows 10 Install.

Starfield supposed minimum requirement is at 1080p 30 FPS low...But for the budget gamer, it should be 720p 30FPS low. Since Bethesda didn't publish the Minimum Requirement for 720p, let's try to find it out. Platform was on a quad cores 4th gen Intel i5-4690 with 16G of memory DDR3 and the GTX 900 series, the GTX950, GTX 960 4G, GTX 970 and the GTX 980 ti (not the GTX980 which I don't have). I hope this will help a lot of ppl clarify and decide if they going to buy the game or not.

Alan Wake 2 minimum requirement is a RTX 2060 or RX6600, which it isn't. It absolutely require a card that have Mesh Shader. That was introduce back in the GTX 16xx series. So a 1660ti is crushing hte 980ti, the 1080ti the RX 5800 xt...WOW

So the minimum requirement just change before the launch, it was the i5-2500 with 8G of Ram, but the GPU pass the GTX 1060 6G recommended GPU to Minimum require GPU, replacing the GTX660ti and the now recommended is the RTX3060. Same for AMD, it was the Radeon R9 270 for minimum and RX 480 for recommended. Now it's RX580 minimum and RX6600 XT. They also don't specify which resolution, 720p, 1080p, 1440p...or which preset, very low, low, medium, high...

Skull and Bones Demo is out, the game release Feb 18th, the Proposed minimum requirement are Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel i7-4790 - 8G dual channel Ram - a GTX 1060 6G variant or AMD RX570 4G variant. At sea and in city the FPS varies a lot. the 30 FPS at 1080p low settings has to be in city.

Before the launch of BG3 August 3rd, I've try the proposed minimum requirements from the Early Access. Larian Studio is proposing for smooth play I5-5690 or AMD FX-8350 with 8G memory, GTX 970 or RX480 and 150G of SSD storage space. That was a fun testing, it went better than expected, they are too conservative of their minimum requirements, I'll try to find out what is the real minimum next time.

After testing the Proposed minimum requirement. I've met some bad results, the Game is heavily CPU bound, making the game CPU bottleneck quite easily. I wasn't able to find the proper CPU, I don't have every platform of CPU, but at least I was able to fond the GPUs and also, 16G is mostly required. Losing so much performance with only 8G of memory.

HELLDIVERS 2, ultra popular co-op shooter game, the Proposed minimum requirement are being overstated. GTX1050ti or RX470...but what can you expect as a player, what resolution, what Graphic settings and you'll get what kind of FPS. Publish by Playstation, should you expect Console quality Graphics?

Ark Survival Ascended is out, and so does the REAL Minimum Requirement. That series is known to be heavily towards the GPU instead of CPU. But this time, I've found out there's more to it on the CPU side. A lot of ppl complaining of crashes happen to have a lower count cores CPU. And I experienced it also, 4 cores 4 thread is a no go for smooth gameplay.
