Changing your thinking from micro to macro will be helpful. In other words, instead of focusing on day-to-day and week-to-week progress, start looking at things from a month-to-month perspective, and that will ultimately make a difference in your life. This doesn't mean you should ignore the smaller things, but by framing them in terms of the larger goal, you may find them to be more manageable.
By focusing on the big picture, you can begin to see that there is much more to life than your current situation. it's time to shift your thinking from micro (the small moments of pain) to macro (your big picture).

That means accepting that you're the only one who can make meaningful changes in your life, and putting in the hard work needed to get better. It's not always easy – but it is worth it.
There's no easy path to recovery, but if you're willing to put in the hard work, then you can definitely make progress. You need to have the parent mentality and be responsible.

Normally you seek multiple opinions from different doctors and either they tell you they have no idea what's going on, or they tell you a few things that might help you in your situation. So you go to another doctor and you're given pieces of a different puzzle.
Before you know it, you have multiple different doctors telling you five different things, giving you five different tools from five different practices. And then it gets to the point where you give up on doctors or the medical system because nobody is giving you a solid answer.
Taking a bunch of information from so many different places and trying to put it together versus approaching it with the idea in mind that this is a nervous system issue problem simplifies everything.
Once we start looking at it through that lens, it removes a lot of the anxiety and provides clarity on what exactly we're trying to fix rather than "throwing darts in the dark" hoping this next treatment or supplement will work.

When you suffer from chronic fatigue, perfectionism is the last thing you need. As someone who has struggled with dozens of symptoms and fatigue for over 4 years, I know how hard it can be to recover while trying to meet your own impossible standards. But there's one thing that has helped me heal: letting go and accepting my limitations. You might not believe this at first because when you're in the midst of suffering from chronic fatigue, it feels like everything is getting worse - no matter what you do. It's important to remember that healing takes time - and sometimes more than we think we have.
Remember - you are not perfect. Rather than constantly striving for perfectionism, it's important to focus on the things in life that make you happy. If all you do is work for recognition, money, or take care of others, then your body will be too tired to heal itself. It's also important to let go of any expectations when you are sick with ME/CFS because the more expectations you have the more disappointed you will probably be (things rarely go according to plan when you have this illness).
A lot of them think that by working harder and trying to be perfect at everything they do, they'll get better faster. This is a myth that can prevent you from getting well. You cannot recover by being a perfectionist! In this video, I will explain what the reality is about CFS and why it's important for you to stop striving for perfectionism as soon as possible.

Don't gamble with your recovery. Don't be the person who goes all in and then loses everything and then gets caught up in that vicious cycle.
You make some progress, you know, you feel really good. You feel like you're winning. You're super happy because you're excited and you're obviously euphoric and you think things are going really well.
You go even further, you're even happier. It's a new, all-time high you're winning. You feel great again, you can go higher. You're even happier, but eventually, you overdo things and completely crash. You're back stuck in bed shortly after thinking you just conquered this thing for good.
All your progress tanks.
The worst part? This isn't the first time you've overdid things and ended up crashing, yet you can't help getting excited when things seem to be going so well.
Don't gamble your way to recovery. Your progress has to be science-based, not left up to luck. I break these concepts down in this video!

There are many things you can do to help increase your quality of life- though it will take both an internal and external transformation to fully recover.
When you start feeling all these symptoms, you feel like it's taking you on this physical journey, a journey of pain, suffering, and desperation. And it, it's a very physical feeling, at least in the beginning, and things are changing around you.
You're not able to do many things. You typically end up pushing and crashing a lot at the beginning of your illness. And what was once a physical journey that you're going on a physical block actually turns into a mental block and it's a mental journey that you have to partake.
Even before I was physically getting better, I was getting better in my mind. I was seeing myself in a different way. I was more confident in my abilities. I was a lot more positive. So the shift that happened in my mind came before the physical changes started to happen.

In the beginning stages of recovery from chronic fatigue, it is common to feel overwhelmed with emotions. This is a normal part of the recovery journey.
Often times when recovering from chronic fatigue, people will think with their emotions rather than logic.
The emotional side of their brain can be telling them to push through and work as much as possible, while the logical side of their brain knows they need rest in order to recover. On the other hand, the emotional side of their brain can be telling them all the bad things that can potentially happen in the moment, but logically there's a very slim chance that these things will happen.

t is hard to admit that sometimes your body just needs a break, but it does not mean you are weak. Getting through this illness has made me the strongest person I know. There were days where I couldn't even turn over in bed, but my moments of weakness only make me stronger in the end because they taught me patience, resilience, and so many other things. The great thing is these dark times always pass eventually and will leave you feeling more alive than ever before.

Most people with chronic fatigue syndrome have trouble regulating their adrenaline and cortisol levels, which can lead to an increased risk of depression, anxiety, and even cardiovascular disease. One strategy for managing your symptoms may be to learn how your body works so you're better able to calm it down when it's experiencing stress or tension.
You know what it's like to have your nervous system constantly on alert, ready for a fight or flight response at any moment. That's why this video is especially important to you. You must learn how to calm down your nervous system.
The first thing that we need to do is figure out what exactly triggers our nervous systems. For many people with chronic fatigue syndrome, stress and anxiety are major factors. It can be difficult if not impossible for us to regulate these emotions without help from a therapist or coach.
The nervous system is the means by which your body sends messages to and from your brain. When you are under stress, it can be hard on both your mental health as well as physical.
