Why there is confusion on “End Times” among Baptist.
By John Young
The “End Times” is of great interest, yet there is confusion and hindrances which keeps even the most experienced bible believer from properly understanding the subject. Below I show generally and simply 10 hindrances I see. If you can think of more feel free to comment them below. Over time we will expound on each in more detail to show why we believe each is a hindrance to understanding the truth.
1. Bible Theology: Of the three main theologies (Covenant, Dispensational, Stewardship), Covenant and Dispensational wrongly lump all bible covenants into one. The only main difference is Covenant holds to a transfer of ownership from Israel and Dispensational holds to a pause of ownership. Yet the bible holds that Promises, Covenants, Testaments and etc. are held by God and only apply to persons qualified by him to be in them and their regulations are to be considered individually held.
2. Order of Revelation: Many have to split up and re-arrange the book to fit their theology. Yet the book does not call for spitting, retelling, or overlaying its events. Rather it shows a clear progression. Covenant and Dispensationist both try to split up and rearrange the book while ignoring its structure.
3. Division of Church and State: Covenant reject the teaching and commands of the Apostles, that the church and Israel are separate institutions, as stated in Acts 2:41-47; 15; 16:4-5; 21:19-28 in favor of their own theology. Many adherents, particularity Pre-wrath supporters, state boldly, and without fear, that the Apostles teaching and command for the churches to follow is wrong. This a great concern.
4. Appeals to History: While outside history can compliment the scripture it does not have authority to supplant or justify fulfillment of prophesy. This right belongs only to scripture. So, unless the bible shows or states the event as being fulfilled, then the event is yet future. Covenant and Dispensationalist will often appeal to flawed “customized to the event” version of history to fulfill a particular prophecy, so that the scripture will not interfere with their theology on future events. This is wrong.
5. Confusion of Terms: Intentional intermixing of separate and like terms are used to reorder events to favor theology over the plain reading. Day of “***”, Gathering, Rapture, Return, Resurrection, etc.
6. Substitution Theology: Often when the plain reading cannot be ignored and there is no scriptural justification, they will simply switch out the terms for one that does fit in their conceived teaching. Some examples are Angels to Pastors, Day of the Lord to Day of Christ, Babylon to USA.
7. Assumption Theology: When coming to a seemingly confusing or hard passage, rather than leaving it alone or searching scripture for an explanation (which usually will contradict his theology), the teacher will uphold his theology by appealing to “It seems” or “looks like” or “I think” statements.
8. Opposition Theology: Rather than developing theologies to give understanding and to show the clarity of scripture on a matter, many teachings arise in opposition to another teaching. Over time this develops In a disregard for scriptural context in favor of promoting one flawed theology over another.
9. Vilifying Opponents: Frustrated by opposition theology that lacks the contextual clarity of scripture, the adherence have little choice but to keep followers by tribalism and fear-mongering, leading to willful ignorance and stalled development of the true scriptural position or investigation on a matter.
10. Biblical Context: Rather than a culture of teaching deep contextual study of scripture, in the order and priority of scripture, theology and opinions of men are sought to teach on a topic and treated as if studying a matter, leading to a prioritizing, reordering and systematizing of things scripture does not.
(Bonus Points)
11. Ulterior Motives: Up to this point we have assumed errant but sincere motives in the hearts of those hindered by the previous ten points and the desire on all to come to agreement on the truth. If we in honest and sincere hearts deal with the above hindrances to clearly understanding the scripture there will be a greater consensus and good will on the subject of End Times. Yet we must also acknowledge the hindrance of those who are not interested in coming to the truth but rather prefer to keep them in place for one reason or another. Most of the reasons are self serving in one way or another and are held knowingly to some degree. They can include but are not limited to some of the following:
11a. Fear of Going Beyond the Group: Generally we do not learn our doctrine in a vacuum. We learn with others and tend to adopt the particular views held by our teachers and peers. We have a natural tendency to want to be part of the group. Group learning is wonderful and helps ensure you are placing your education on a strong foundation of truth and consensus. For basic education this typically is a must and there is safety in the consensus to ensure your foundation is correctly laid. Such things as the alphabet, arithmetic, dates of events, etc are not controversial in the main. Yet when it is time to construct true ideas from foundational truth and apply them that it becomes controversial with the Group. The Group by nature does not like new or different yet without these error cannot be challenged and truth cannot advance. Not going beyond is safe and endears you to the group but does nothing to purify or refine our doctrine. We often chose to stay and tow the party line rather than make waves.
We see this in scripture with Jewish groups such as Pharisees and Sadducees, Herodians, Essene, etc. All were fundamentally Jewish yet had differing ideas. To go beyond your group in that time often meant joining an opposing group, and this is often the tenancy today. To trade one group for another and then adopt their ideas rather than going alone. Yet Jesus challenged them to go beyond their Fear and group think to that of Love and Scriptural truth.
11b. Love of Novel Ideas: Greek Individualists mindset, as in Acts 17:21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.) is the foundation for most Western secular study. Paul encountered such in Athens at Mars Hill. Often this is thought of going beyond the group, being an individual, yet it is the opposite error, from fearing the Group, to having ideas merely for the sake of ideas. Rather, Paul called us to unity (1 Cor. 14:26). To use our study to edify the group rather than to merely have something “new”. Our ideas must be grounded in truth and be for the edifying of our group. To grow the group in truth. (Acts 17:11)
11c. Personal Notoriety: Becoming known as a teacher of a particular idea or as a leader of an established group will often hinder change from an errant line of thinking as you are now considered it’s champion. To promote the idea or group will be to promote yourself, amassing a following and influence that would be lost if it were abandoned for the truth.
11d. Personal Profit: Ideas are big business and when its tied to your livelihood you are prone to protect the it the best you can. Philippians 3:18-19 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
11e. ….. What would you add to this list of Ulterior Motives?

The Four Stage Return of Christ - Part 3: The 3rd Stage of Christ's Return
The Four Stage return of Christ - A Basic Revelation Outline, Part - 3
A Basic Revelation Outline, Part – 3, The return for Righteous Israel, Led by the two witnesses and 144,000 sealed and elect saints of God.
-Chapters 8-14 The return For His Nation (Saving Sealed Israel, 7 Trumpets) Time: Last half of the week
Chapter 8-9: Christ opens 7th seal initiating Prayer of Slaughtered Saints from 6:10-11, 7:13-15 and Psalm 79. and Six angels sound the coming Judgment of God.
Chapter 10: John is shown the Seven Thunders that will come just after the seventh angel sounds but before the vial judgments. They will reveal God's eternal plans.
Chapter 11: Two temple prophets described. Called away just before 7th angel sounds.
Chapter 12: New Israel's Spiritual struggle with The Devil is shown.
Chapter 13: The earth's Struggle with the Beast and False Prophet is shown.
Chapter 14: Christ gathers Israel to Mt. ZION and gathers the World to be judged.
After the 144,000 flee Jerusalem and are safely out of anti-Christ/devil's reach (Rev 12:6,17) and with the two witnesses defending and proclaiming at the Jerusalem temple (Rev 11:2-3) they turn their focus on the world's remaining believers and attempts to slaughter them all in a worldwide Great Tribulation Purge (Rev 6:11, 7:9-14, 13:5-8). Their arrival and prayers in heaven causes Christ to open the Seventh seal which initiates the 7 trumpets which sound the coming of Christ to earth to rescue Israel and judge Babylon for the slaughter. They are meant as clear and visible warnings for all to repent. (Rev 9:20-21)
During this end times slaughter the vail between heaven and earth is removed and can be seen by earth (Rev 6:12-17, Mat 24:27). Heavenly destruction and signs are shown by the trumpets, but the anti-Christ/ false Prophet manipulates many to follow them instead of repenting, by deceiving them in seeing heaven as the enemy of man and the signs as their own (Rev 13:5-7). This continues for 42 months/1260 days until the 7th trumpet sounds and Christ physically steps foot on Mt. of Olives (Zech 14:1-11, Acts 1:6-12) and gathers his elect 144,000 to Mt. Zion from the wilderness (Rev 14:1, Mat 24:30-31).
In his arrival and just after the angels gather New Israel, he sends forth one last call to surviving nations to repent before reaping and pouring out the vials of judgments on Babylon (Rev 14:6-12, Joel 2:30-32).
Trumpets: 1st : Hail and fire mingled with blood falls on earth, 2nd: As it were a great mountain burning with fire falls on earth, 3rd: A great star from heaven (wormwood) falls on earth, 4th: Third part of the sun, moon stars are smitten, and an angel giving warning of three more woes to come, 5th: A star falls from heaven (opening the pit releasing locust and the angel leader Abaddon to torment men for 5 months), 6th: Releases 4 angels from Euphrates which initiates an army of 200k horsemen (Joel 2:1-11) prepared to kill men (starting a year, day and hour before the last trumpet), 7th: the mystery of God as he declared to the prophets, is finished. And announces the arrival of Israel's Christ on earth.
Notes: The timeline for the end time is given by the following verses:
Church age: Now till the rapture. Rev 1:10, 4:1-2, Acts 1:6-9 (and possibly Ten days tribulation just before the rapture as referenced in Rev 2:10)
Tribulation (seals broken): Rapture till the desolation, 1290 days. Dan 8:13-14; 12:11
Great tribulation: 35/45 days of intense killing after desolation and cleansing of the temple. Dan 12:12
Trumpets of Wrath: Desolation till Christ return 1260 days. Rev 11:1-3
Vial Judgments: When Christ returns, One day and an hour. Rev 18:8;10,17,19

The Four Stage Return of Christ - Part 2: The 2nd Stage of Christ's Return
The Four Stage return of Christ - A Basic Revelation Outline, Part - 2 (See Part 1 and Book outline here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6s_Qe12WcY&list=PLPBnTVkjTpCJl70DpxmR1R5OXjRQbTe4j)
The Return for His house the Temple. And the restarting of Israelite prophesy.
Chapters 5-7 The Return for His House (Cleansing the Temple, 7 Seals) Time: Rapture til Midweek
Chapter 5: Christ is found worthy to open the book and start Daniel’s 70th week (D.9).
Chapter 6: Christ opens six seals, which initiates the first half of Daniel’s 70th week,
Chapter 7: Christ re-initiates events of Ezekiel and Matt 23-24 leading to desolation of Anti-Christ Israel, The great tribulation, and the birth of righteous Israel.
Christ, reunited with his Spiritual body, now claims his role as Head of Israel (5:5-6) and in order to restart Daniel’s 7th Week (Dan 9:24) as a judgment upon Israel (1 Peter 4:17, 1 Cor 11:31, Matt 23:29-39, Heb 10:5-10, Psalm 40:4-10, Acts 7:34-60) which had been indefinably delayed until the gospel was preached (Luke 16:16, Rom 11:11,25, Acts1:6-8, Matthew 24:14, Dan 12:8-13, Rev 10:1,5-7, Rom 8:21-23). The scroll is the delayed prophesy and seals are things needed to be put in place to initiate his coming judgment and to reclaim his earthly throne (The ark ), as shown in the visions of Ezekiel 7-11.
This throne will be transported to Israel’s desolate house (the Temple in Israel), in which the Ani-Christ will attempt to claim by placing his image in it (2 Thess 2:1-12, Ez 8:1-4) midweek. This act cause God's glory to appear upon the throne, who then directs seven angels judge the wicked and seal the righteous in the temple and in Jerusalem (Ez 8:17-18, Ez 9). This event will anger the Anti-Christ who will then retaliate by initiating war against the saints who flee Jerusalem and enter the wilderness (Matthew 24:15-22, Rev 12:14). The anti-Christ will then initiate the “Great tribulation purge” by slaughtering any non-sealed but repentant people he can find and will reclaim the city (Psalm 79, Reva 6:9-11, 7:9-12) but not the temple or the inner court which will be divinely protected so that he two prophets God chooses can witness in the inner court before the temple doors to the world (Revelation 11:2-3, Zech 4:14, 9:8).
Of note is the contrast of Christ in Revelation 1 and in Revelation 5:
1. midst of the seven candlesticks vs in the midst of the throne, four beasts, and elders
2. like unto the Son of man vs a Lamb as it had been slain (Heb 9:26), Lion of Judah, Root of David
3. had in his right hand seven stars vs seven horns and seven eyes/ Spirits of God (Zech 3:8, 4:10)
4. have the keys of hell and of death vs prevailed to open book, and to loose the seven seals

The Four Stage Return of Christ - A Basic Revelation Outline -Part 1
"The Four Stage Return of Christ"
A Basic Revelation Outline -Part 1
Chronology of Revelation is progressive and accumulative in nature, interjected at times with explanatory passages. (Notice the phrases are always “hereafter”, “after this” and “then” not “another view of this event is”. Also notice sections of explanation pause the chronology “What meanith” or “come and see” etc. Rearranging of the Book is often done to get man’s theology to fit but God’s order is correct.)
--Chapters:1-4 For His Body 5-7 For His House 8-14 For His Nation 15-22 For His Kingdom
-Chapters 1-4 For His Body (Rapture of the Church, 7 Candlesticks) Time: Now till the Rapture
Chapter 1: Return of Christ for the church.(1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)
Chapters 2-3: Judgment of the churches. (2 Corinthians 5:10, 20)
Chapter 4: Rapture of the church to Heaven by the Spirit. (2 Thessalonians 2:1-7)
Guided by the Angel from Christ who will explain to him the events that he sees (1:1) John is caught up in the Spirit on the LORD’S DAY with Christ and the seven churches (1:10-18, 1:20). After brief explanation letters to the churches of this present time and their judgment they are then taken by Christ by the Spirit to Heaven through Heaven’s door (4:1-2) into God’s throne room where we see the elders of the Church worshiping God and casting their crowns before Him (4:11). Notice they already have their rewards (4:4). From this room the church will see what happens “hereafter” they and the Spirit of Christ (HG in us) are removed from the earth.

Fight the Good Fight, Keep the Faith, Finish Your Course (2 Tim 4:6-8) Missionary Maurice Young
Missionary to Taiwan, Maurice Young (1952-2021) gives a message at South Side Baptist Tabernacle (6710 Textile Rd., Ypsilanti, Michigan 48197).
Missionary Maurice Young was called to Heaven on March 31, 2021. In honor of his over 32 years of dedicated service to Christ we are sharing one of his short but powerful sermons about being a faithful Soldier of Christ. In this short message Brother Young speaks of his call to ministry, the need for faithfulness in ministry and then the need for more new and dedicated Christians who will take his place and will keep the faith handed down to them. This truly was the life of Missionary Maurice Young. A life of dedication as a good soldier of Jesus Christ to the Chinese people on the island of Taiwan.
2 Timothy 4:1-8 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

The Word Easter (A Christian Etymology and Origin) Pastor John Young
Easter in Acts 12:4 is the only mention of this word in our King James Bible. While the context and historical Christian tradition clearly shows this word to be reference to the celebration of Christ's resurrection on the Sunday Morning just after the Passover week, many have attempted to paganize or confuse this reference for various reasons. In this lesson we strongly refute those errant ideas and show the clear Christian etymology and origin of the word and why we still gladly use this wonderful English word to refer to the resurrection morning of Christ.
(At about 5 min mark I say "David Gibbs" but meant Brother Sam Gipp and was referencing the pagan myth he believes and promotes in "The Answer Book: A Helpful Book for Christians".)
Special thanks to the KJV Today article (“Easter” or “Passover” in Acts 12:4?) which was helpful in organizing the information for this lesson. It can be found here: https://www.kjvtoday.net/home/easter-or-passover-in-acts-124

God Of The Bible In Ancient China
Two lessons showing from the Chinese language (first hour) and history (second hour) that the God of the Bible is ShangDi the Supreme God of the Chinese.
Proverbs 2:1-6
My son, if thou wilt receive my words,
and hide my commandments with thee;
so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom,
and apply thine heart to understanding;
yea, if thou criest after knowledge,
and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
if thou seekest her as silver,
and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord,
and find the knowledge of God.
For the Lord giveth wisdom:
out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Believing on the LORD Jesus Christ
In this message we review what the purpose of Soulwinning is and why it is important, when possible, to emphasize the whole Commission in our soul winning presentations. Not only to save the souls from hell but to also to help sanctify them. We show how salvation (not just from Hell but for all aspects of our lives) is by believing on the LORD Jesus Christ and the Gospel is what we preach in order to led them (through the power of the Holy Spirit) to accepting Jesus as such.
We take note of the fact that "Repentance" is not a physical action of turning or stopping any sin but rather turning from a state of Pride and rebellion before God to a state of Humble submission before God.
We also show the four points that should make up any gospel presentation and the Biblical reason for each point. Then we finish up with the importance of each believer accepting and modeling each point in their own lives in order to be a proper witness of the LORD Jesus Christ.

Don't Despise The Day of Small Things
My father, Maurice Young, Missionary to Taiwan, passed on to Glory March 31, 2021. On Sunday Night, May 16, 2021, Tabernacle Baptist Church held a testimony service where many of the members gave testimonies of how he influenced them. Pastor Don Ball also invited me to preach the service, which was a great honor. This is the message that was preached for the service.
In this message we see how God often does not always use "great" events or "great" people but rather uses small events and humble people to effect great change, through small things over time. In Zechariah 4 we see how God uses a seemingly small event in the life of Zerubbabel to show how that small event in a seemingly insignificant location will lead to Christ and the world wide influence of today's biblical churches.
In this example God gives of Zerubbabel we see how God can and does use the small daily things in our lives to fulfil his will. Throughout the message we give some examples of how this is done and how small events of other believers affected my father's life and ministry. We also see that without these small things much of the Godly influences and great events of our own lives would not have happened. We end with realizing the importance of cherishing and not despising the small "insignificant" things we get to do for God throughout our day that effect those around us.

Cain: A Model for Modern Christians
Why is it that many Christians today seem to be following and serving God but do not seem to be blessed by God and in the end fail and fall away? Cain is a perfect example of Why.... Outwardly he appeared to be a Model Christian. He Sacrificed to God, God spoke to him and he spoke to God. He asked for forgiveness and obtained mercy from God, and people saw God's mark on him. So why did he fail? In this message we discuss the reason why he and many apparent "Godly" Christians like him fall away from God. We also see how even Cain in his sinful fall received warnings and mercy from God in every step he took to failure. Today we "modern Christians" receive the same warnings. The question is will we heed the callings of God? Will we submit to God in all things or continue down our own path?
(Preached Sunday Night, May 31, 2020, by Brother John Young, at Maranatha Bible Baptist Church, in Fulton, MI, Wakeshma Township, Kalamazoo County, Mendon, Leonidas)
Sermon Outline:
TITLE: Cain the Model Modern Christian.
TEXT: Genesis 4:1-15
Introduction: Why is it that many Christians today seem to be following and serving God but do not seem to be blessed by God and in the end fail? Cain is a perfect example of Why....
I. Why He is a Model Christian.
A. Sacrificed to God. v.3
B. God spoke to him and he spoke to God. v.6, v.13
C. Cain asked for forgiveness. v.13
D. People saw God's mark on him. v.15
II. Why He is a Modern Christian.
A. Sacrificed the wrong things.
B. Ignored God's words and followed his own.
C. Asked God to forgive punishment but did not admit to wrong doing.
D. God's mark was a mark of warning to others.
III. What we need to do.
A. Sacrifice the right things.
B. Obey God's word and pray properly.
C. Admit our wrong doings to God (and refer back to point B).
D. Seek to have a good mark.
Conclusion: Even Cain in his sinful fall received warnings and mercy from God in every step he took to failure as a Christian. We today receive the same warnings. The question is will we heed the callings of God? Will we continue down our own path or submit to God?
