Today's episode is all about the Torah Observant community's complicated relationship to church leadership, how we've handled disillusionment with organized religion and the Bible's recipe for order in the body. When we interviewed Apostle Dr. Arthur Bailey in The Way documentary, he told us about finding Torah after years as a Baptist and Christian Reformed pastor and about his wife helping him eschew traditions of men in favor of instructions of YHWH. Now, he'll tell us what he's done for the last eight years, including transitioning the church he was pastoring years ago from Sunday church to keeping Sabbath. We talk about the biblical model for discipleship, leadership and mentorship and even kids' role in worship gatherings. Dawn Milberger has survived some of the most horrific acts you can imagine. In this episode, she tells her story (one that includes attempted abortion, sexual assault, marital infidelity and finding Torah) and shares the one powerful phrase that’s unlocked her ability to forgive when forgiveness feels impossible. Dawn was born with and lives successfully with a rare form of muscular dystrophy along with Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome. Regardless of her health challenges, Dawn has been speaking publicly about her adoption & abortion survival for 40 years. Throughout her journey, Dawn's been blessed to be on numerous boards, counseling panels for pregnancy centers, fundraisers of all sizes for various ministries, clubs, and pro-life groups. She's hosted Ladies Forgiveness Brunches teaching and giving application forgiveness of difficult issues to the wounded. She joined forces with the Justice Foundation in 2015 on the Heartbeat Bill banning abortions after 6 weeks giving numerous interviews and testimonies worldwide. She was sought out to submit her testimony for the very first De-fund Planned Parenthood Hearing and the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. She's been featured on Bread of Life Radio, Life News, Epoch Times, among many others. In Spring of 2019 she gladly accepted a position as member of the Board of Directors for the Abortion Survivors Network. Dawn and her husband of 24 years live in the beautiful hill country of Texas with their three dogs. After the 12th read-through, Maddox had questions his pastor couldn't answer, which ultimately led him to conclude the Bible Laws (Torah) are relevant to our lives and must be kept.
