Church of Cinema #2: " The Game" (1997)
The Church of Cinema is a place where we present and converse about great works of cinematic art. In today's episode, A classic thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. To me, this forgotten Fincher classic was way ahead of its time.
Win or Loose we all play The Game, unfortunately, not everyone knows they playing and some are not playing fair.

How do you tell the kids the world will end, life is a circle? Put on this movie and be ready to have a talk afterwards. Kids movies from my childhood went dark and hard so have tissues ready if you watch movies that make you feel.
Meta as ever, this is the type of content the characters of the Booth Monkeys Movie are creating at the end of the story. A place where we can talk about films you may have missed or forgotten, then share in the found meaning.
We are on Patreon, Still figuring it out, trying to make actual tiers with cool original stuff, not the cookie cutter creator package.

BOOTH MONKEYS - Episode 12
The 12 episodes of the Booth Monkeys Readthrough was told in 2 parts. I open each episode with a look at my life as I survive in this country and dream about making this as my side hustle. Then I read the script and offer my commentary on the story and where it comes from.
In this last episode the story is wrapped up for real this time. Plus we imagine what working on Booth Monkeys will look like full time.

BOOTH MONKEYS - Episode 11
In this episode I add to some scenes and provide an ending with some closure. And go back to some scenes I wanted to add to after reading them again.
I also decided to adjust my original ending as I realized my last writings session left the final parts in construction.

BOOTH MONKEYS - Episode 9
Here, near the end of the story, we begin to wrap things up. The Story in the Story is coming to an end. Mary is finally, nearly asleep, and Dre is ready to go where dreams are meant to be had, in bed.
I literally planned to end the story here but couldn't. I still have much more to say and honestly this is my version of the Wayne's World style of multi endings but done subtly and with meaning.
Meanwhile, the director continues to live his dream awake as he wanders through the forest looking for Metaphors. I find clear thoughts while walking
I hope you are enjoying this read through of the screenplay.

BOOTH MONKEYS - Episode 8
Real life mimics fiction. While the Wife and I are on a road trip selling off our skills, These scenes follow in the script where Dre and Ryan go on a road tripl to find their long-lost mentor.
We're wrapping up the second act and barreling forward to the twisted 3rd act ending. Where the story we have been building comes to its conclusion.
Will the guys save the film booth, and will the Mary, the child / audience surrogate, fall asleep before Dre runs out of story to tell? All this and more in this episode of The Booth Monkeys Screenplay read through.

BOOTH MONKEYS - Episode 7
Seven is an important number, a powerful number, some say a lucky number. Throwing free throws I average 7/10, or more accurately, I am a lifetime 69% Shooter... 9/10 of using a needle/syringe combo to take your pets blood; that 1? were not worried about that one little guy (Guess the reference).
This is a very busy time of the year for me, so to stay on schedule, I needed to find places to do work while in the field. So I am in a remote location sharing stories and adding to the Story withing the Story happening around the screenplay reading.
Code named Paws & Dawgs, This recording looks at the Directors personal journey that leads to the deeper meaning of this story. Hopefully that life currency shines bright through the screenplay.

Maybe my back hurts from carrying all this extra belly weight...
Maybe my back hurts from one to many jump shots and hip pumps to complete the day.
...Always remember to take time to stop and smell the flowers.
Ep 6 more focus on the characters and story... Finally , I got into what this script is truly about. Have you figured me out yet? Share and subscribe if you haven't already. I gotta ask since it's still the best way to get this project up.

BOOTH MONKEYS - Episode 5
"...let us become intimate with poverty, so that Fortune may not catch us off guard. We shall be rich with all the more comfort, if we learn how far poverty is from being a burden..." Seneca, Moral Letters to Lucilius.
In this episode we are going deeper into the weeds of the story and really establishing character desires and weaknesses. Also I'm getting personal about the subtle meaning of the story. Realizing I need to build on Ryan and Jenny and also show add even more comic shenanigans from my life and imagination.
Never forget this is all part of a bedtime story. Thank you for watching.

Something Something Hobgoblin and away we go. Is it really the end of the booth monkeys in episode three, of course not.
NSFW warning as the content gets real.
In this section we finally introduce the low key hero of the story. The mother of the daughter promised from the first episode.
There are jokes and shenanigans and life happens all around it. Hope you enjoy.

BOOTH MONKEYS - Episode 3
They say, "Living begins at 40, everything up until then is practice."
In this episode we add the the characters and their conflicts are introduced. The story is still basically a father telling a bed time story to his daughter. That story includes his favorite job, when he met her mother, and when he chose to help others earlier than I did.
Thank you for watching. This first readthrough is my first attempt to self produce this project into a funded movie. Subscribe and share to help build this project in it's earliest stages as it looks for producers.
