NASA's Moon Rover Faces Extreme Mobility Tests
NASA's Moon rover prototype completed mobility tests.
The VIPER mission is managed by NASA's Ames Research Center in California's Silicon Valley and is scheduled to be delivered to Mons Mouton near the South Pole of the Moon in late 2024 by Astrobotic's Griffin lander as part of the Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative.
VIPER will inform future Artemis landing sites by helping to characterize the lunar environment and help determine locations where water and other resources could be harvested to sustain humans over extended stays.
The VIPER science team also aims to address how frozen water and other volatiles got on the Moon in the first place, where they came from, what has kept some of them preserved over billions of years, and where they go after they escape the lunar soil.

The Year of Pluto - New Horizons Documentary Brings Humanity Closer to the Edge of the Solar System
New Horizons marks a historic milestone as the pioneering mission to explore the Kuiper Belt, an extensive region teeming with icy bodies and enigmatic small objects that orbit beyond Neptune. Often referred to as the "third" zone of our solar system, it lies beyond the inner rocky planets and the outer gas giants. The spacecraft itself is a product of the expertise housed at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Maryland. APL not only designed and built New Horizons but also oversees its operations, playing a crucial role in the mission's success. NASA's Science Mission Directorate in Washington entrusts the management of this groundbreaking endeavor to APL. The mission's significance is further underscored in "The Year of Pluto - NASA New Horizons," a compelling one-hour documentary that delves into the intricacies of the mission, offering insights into its origins and the profound implications it holds. Interviews with key figures such as Dr. James Green, John Spencer, Fran Bagenal, Mark Showalter, and others provide a deep understanding of how New Horizons seeks to unravel mysteries and address fundamental questions about our solar system. As part of NASA's New Frontiers Program, overseen by the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, New Horizons stands as a testament to human curiosity and the relentless pursuit of scientific knowledge.

To Bennu and Back: Journey's End
OSIRIS-REx is NASA's first asteroid sample return mission. It launched in September 2016 on a journey to explore a near-Earth asteroid called Bennu. In October 2020, the spacecraft ventured to the asteroid's surface and collected about 250 grams of material for delivery to Earth. Now, two years and four months after leaving Bennu, OSIRIS-REx is closing in on the place where its journey began. The mission's thrilling finale will take place on September 24, 2023, as a capsule containing the Bennu samples touches down in Utah's West Desert. Follow the journey to

NASA Is WORRIED As A Massive Solar Storm Is Heading Towards Earth!
NASA is closely monitoring a substantial solar storm hurtling towards Earth, raising concerns among scientists and space agencies. The impending storm, characterized by intense solar activity, has the potential to disrupt communication systems, navigation technology, and power grids on our planet. As researchers analyze the storm's trajectory and strength, precautionary measures are being considered to mitigate potential impacts. The intricate dance of charged particles from the sun colliding with Earth's magnetic field poses challenges, prompting NASA to keep a vigilant eye on this celestial event and its potential ramifications for our technological infrastructure.

NASA Just Discovered A Planet Even Better for Life Than Earth
One of them was found in 2019 and called Teegarden B. This is a super Earth [Mass: 1.05 Earths] orbiting an M-type star every 4.9 days at a distance of 0.0252 AU.
The Teegarden's Star is one of the closest stars to our solar system located about 12.4 light-years away from us. And although the red dwarf is 10 times less massive than our sun, and has a temperature of just about 2,700°C [5,000°F], it can still provide enough heat for its two planets [Teegarden b Teegarden c].
The two exoplanets are similar to the inner planets in our solar system and are only slightly more massive than Earth. Both of them are situated in the habitable zone where liquid water can exist, but Teegarden b seems much more promising, and here's why.

Highlights: First Images from the James Webb Space Telescope (Official NASA Vide..
NASA revealed the first five full-color images and spectrographic data from the world's most powerful space telescope, the James Webb Space Telescope, a partnership with ESA (European Space Agency), and CSA (Canadian Space Agency). The world got its first look at the full capabilities of the mission at a live event streamed from the agency's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, on July 12, 2022.
The event showcased these targets:
- Carina Nebula: A landscape speckled with glittering stars and cosmic cliffs
- Stephan's Quintet: An enormous mosaic with a visual grouping of five galaxies
- Southern Ring Nebula: A nebula with rings of gas and dust for thousands of years in all directions
- WASP 96-b: A distinct signature of water in the atmosphere of an exoplanet orbiting a distant Sun-like star
- SMACS 0723: The deepest and sharpest infrared image of the distant universe to date
