I was one of the 450,000 people attending the Save America rally on 1/6/20/21. For most of us, it was a joyful time to fill the White House and Washington Monument grounds and hear 16 speakers talk about vital issues for our nation's future. I heard no motivation to break into the capitol or riot there--and neither did the others I spoke with. Yet Donald Trump's single article of impeachment alleges his address "foreseeably resulted in--imminent lawless action at the Capitol." I spent about 25 years of my life not voting or seeking to help or improve our civil governments. The church of which I was a member taught that we should be concentrating on our church life, preparing of Christ's Kingdom. They read a few Scriptures that convinced me, but I never studied the issue for myself. One day, in a conversation with friends, some where explaining their biblical reason for voting. Another good friend said, "No, I don't vote. I might vote against the person God wants to become the leader. I just pray that the person God wants will be elected." Then the thought occurred to me: "If all Christians took that approach, then we would have a huge group of Christians praying that God would cause the non-Christians to vote for the right person. Can God only work through unbelievers? What would happen if our evangelism were wildly successful and we converted everyone in our precinct to Christianity except one. In the next election, would all Christians be praying that this one person would vote for the right candidate? That was not an answer from the Bible, but it was a challenge to study the subject thoroughly in the Bible for myself--and for you! There is a clear answer to the question, "Why does a good God allow evil?" It may not be the answer we were hoping to hear, but it does thoroughly explain the situation. If this problem causes you to doubt God, you owe it to yourself to look for answers. No amount of accomplishment or pleasure in life is meaningful if life is a series of purposeless transactions. Answers to prayer are based on humility and sincerity to contact and follow the Creator of the universe. Anybody in any situation can take that step right now. This is the first of what I hope will be many short Bible teaching videos. I am semi-retired and it is my best effort to glorify God and help mankind by teaching what have learned in my 46 years of mostly independent study. I represent no church organization, have no doctrinal statement or corporation, but simply want to help each person understand God and the Bible better--to make their lives meaningful both now and for eternity. I have a list of about 50 videos I would like to make--plus notes from hundreds of previous oral and written studies. A few examples: If God is good, why does He allow evil? If God knows everything we do before we do it, can He blame us for doing it? Does the Bible teach capitalism, communism or something in between? Is evolution true? Is the Bible reliable? Does the Bible occasionally promote genocide? What are the most important verses of the Bible? Why are there so many Bible translations? Why are there so many different churches?
