The Need for a Muslim Rehab Facility | The Talk with Robbie Hamza
The Need for a Muslim Rehab Facility | The Talk with Robbie Hamza | Ep 15 | Sheikh Sulaiman Moola
During Sheikh Sulaiman Moola’s visit to Brisbane in 2022, he took time out of his busy schedule to chat to Robbie Hamza. Sheikh Suleiman beautifully relates how verses in the Quran can be applied to several situations, including one particular issue being substance abuse and recovery.
Sheikh Suleiman continually reminds us throughout this episode that we may be the means to assisting someone during difficulty, but ultimately guidance in any situation comes from Allah alone. Residing in South Africa, Sheikh Suleiman works closely with Muslim run rehabilitation centres that help a person overcome substance addiction in a culturally appropriate manner. These centres operate in accordance with Islamic teachings, placing a strong emphasis on living an Islamic lifestyle while also adhering to a strict rehabilitation program involving the necessary professionals such as counsellors, medics and social workers to ensure any individual entering the centre receives adequate support for recovery.
Sheikh Suleiman gives us advice on how we as a community can come together to facilitate a dedicated Muslim Rehab Facility where those who are in need can come and receive the support they need to recover from various addictions.
