THE CHALLENGES OF MODERN DAY PARENTING PART 2
In the second episode of the challenges of modern day parenting we focused our attention on the challenges facing us as parents and especially in dealing with our professional life and our responsibilities of managing the daily needs of our families.
Is it the responsibility of our employer to care about the wellbeing of our household?
How do we go back on equal footing with our colleagues when we had been away for maternity or paternity leave?
How do we manage domestic chores? How do we handle or continue to aim higher in our career when we have young children to care for?
I s there a perfect way to manage professional and personal life without one of them overbearing on the other?
These are some of the constant challenges facing parents today and i would like to know what your thoughts are in the comments.
Feel free to reach out to PEDRO APOLLOS PODCAST for comments, suggestions and for a feature on a topic of your choice.
We hope to hear from you, and we will be glad if you do so.

Make it a habit to check on your friends... This was my call to Tjasa Kastelic Asomani during my trip to the city of Prato in the Tuscany Region of Italy to represent UNIRE and participate in the festival of Sabir.
We talked about our time and experienced in Cyprus, the struggles and the challenging work that is needed to succeed both in private and professional life and every other thing in between where we were yesterday and where we are today.
And believe me we didn't leave the city of Prato without visiting a Chinese restaurant.

THE BURDEN OF BEING A SINGLE MOTHER TODAY
Most people have things to say about single mothers as if being a single is the greatest crime that exist in the world. One thing is however true that not all women that are single mothers intended or wanted their life to be that way from the onset, and that part is however missing in our discussion today.
I called on Joy Albert to discuss together what could be the reason why people shit and knock down single mother with every chance they get. To make matter worse, some of these people were raised by single mothers.

WHY MONEY SHOULD NOT BE THE REASON WE DON'T TALK TO OUR PARENTS
Some people consider calling their old parents as a waste of time because of the fact that there's no financial benefits attached to it.
Can fathers that have no financial gifts to give to their adult children be of any use to their children or not?
Do parents have a financial obligation to their adult children?
I have pondered upon these question ever since i encountered someone sometime ago that told me that he doesn't call his father because he has no financial gain to gain by calling his father. However, listen to Titus and Tajasa Kastelic Asomani's take on this issue.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISPLACE YOUR ITALIAN RESIDENCE PERMIT ABROAD
I did this video to help those that misplaced their Italian residence permit abroad to understand what they need to do in that difficult moment, and i hope that by following these simple steps, each and everyone of you will be able to return back to Italy within the shortest time possible.
Misplacing your permit of stay is different from your document getting expired outside of Italy. So when you get back to Italy all you need to do is to make a request to the Immigration department for a duplicate of your permit of stay. You do not ask for a renewal of permit of stay as most people believe it to be.

HOW MEN CAN BE BETTER FATHERS AFTER A DIVORCE
Marriage as we all know doesn't come with a manual of instruction, and they are often times broken up for a million of reasons. To make matter worse, we live in a time where our selfish interests is more important than anything else in the world.
What should we do therefore, especially as a father when a marriage breaks down?
Tjasa Kastelic Asomani during our discussion on the issue of the sorry state of our fathers, drew upon her personal experience to suggest the possible ways that she believes men should carry on being a great father to their children even after a divorce.
We made references to what the role of a father is in both the European and the African culture, and if that even means anything these days.
Tjasa is happy that her parents made the decision to separate from each other even though that it is generally known and believed today that the best environment for children to grow in is withing a nuclear family.
Does this aspect of a nuclear family hold true to you?
Let us know in the comments!

NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS YOUR ATTENTION
To be able to enjoy life and to be at peace with ourselves, we really to need to realise and accept the fact that we cannot be part of everything around us no matter how important it may be. There is no amount of explanation that can ever be given for this act of carelessness for oneself. It is a symptoms of weakness and narcissus behaviour that makes us want to be part of everything and obsessed ourselves with the validation of other people.
We need to learn, cultivates and master the act of fortitude to enable us withstands the challenges of life. Only when we have acquired this type of mental toughness that is burned out of experience that we can be able to stay calm in the midst of chaos.
Therefore be strong, stay firmed and do not be controlled by circumstances around you. Live your life with clear intentions that will enable you determine the possible outcomes of your life and be the here of your world.

WHY WE NEED OUR FATHERS AS AN ADULT
Being a senior citizen could be extremely hard for some people and this is particularly true for men that never developed a close relationship with their children in their formative years. This situation could be aggravated with their children living far away from them, and with no contact at all. On the other hand some Fathers have grown-up children that do not bother to call them even when for a fact that there's nothing particularly wrong between them.
Myself and my guest tried to reason together during our discussion if for instance:
Do we need a fathers as an adult children?
Can our father mentor us as adult children?
What's the use of calling a father that has nothing of financial benefit to us.
These and many more were what we talked about in our discussion and one thing was clear to us all and that was the importance of fathers in our lives even as an adults.

CAN YOUR FATHER BE YOUR TRUSTED CONFIDANT
We are all encouraged today to independent and trust anyone. This philosophical and social point of view if not guided properly could take a heavy toll in our relationship with others and most especially in our marriages. In most cases this already fragile and superficial state of mind could be aggravated by economic hardship and breakdown of communication and therefore leading to breakups in marriages. The reasons for break-up in marriages are endless and the decision to do so by those involved are valid as far as they are concerned.
Children in a situation of a breakup between their parents are often times entrusted to the care of their mothers. Can a child in that situation ever learned to trust and confide in their fathers again. What happens when theses children becomes adults themselves. Do fathers really play that important role of a role model for their daughters as it is generally believed. Could their presence reduces domestic violence or contribute to it.
I encourage you to listen to Tjasa Kastelic Asomani takes when i asked her if our fathers can be our trusted confidant as adults children.

CHOOSE A BETTER PARTNER FOR A HEALTHY MARRIAGE
Men have got to learn to go beyond the superficial aspect of a woman and a learn to choose a better life partner. This will go a long way in reducing domestic violence against women and children and even men themselves. Just as women are able to use their natural ability in the selection of mates to attract a great suitor for themselves. It is up to men to decide the type of women that is good for them to marry to have a healthy family. In addition to this ability of mate selection should also be the power and willingness to work away from a marriage that is unfixable instead of being stuck in a marriage that's going nowhere.
A loveless marriage could possibly turn out to be a terrible and dangerous place to raise a child.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT LIVING ABROAD WITH ITALIAN RESIDENCE PERMIT
In this video i answered 2 questions pertaining to the ability to maintaining Italian permanent residence permit if your live and work abroad. In this particular case it you live in the United Kingdom or The United States of America.
It is very important to note that the UK, although being a European country, however, no longer form part of the European Union. Therefore, the rule applies to those living outside of the European Union equally applies to those living over there in the UK but chooses to maintain their Italian permanent residence permits
Your dependants do not have to return back to Italy with you if they are not in possession of the Italian permanent residence permit. You are only required to do so as the holder over the time stipulated by the Italian immigration regulation.
The time stipulated is 5 years within the EU, and 1 year for those living outside or the EU territory.
