FORGING A RECURVE CHOPPER FROM SCRAP THE COMPLETE PROJECT
Hello everyone and welcome to the forge, In this complete project video I forge a recurve chopper from some scrap rebar. Rebar is not the best choice for a knife but will harden in water and hold a decent edge and is a great way to practice hammer technique and material management on something that doesn't cost anything. The same principles you see me use in this video can be applied to anything from leaf spring to Damascus steel. The rebar used in this video is grade 60 structural steel. Head out to the workshop, grab some scrap steel, and make something awesome! I appreciate you watching!

MAKING THE HABAKI FOR THE WAKIZASHI
Hello everyone and welcome back to the forge for this follow-up video! After finishing up part 2 of the Wakizashi project I decided to go back and remake another Habaki to show the process better, I lost a lot of footage due to it being out of focus in the Wakizashi Part 2 video and figured this would be a good chance to do a stand-alone video on the process I used to make it. This is not the quote-un-quote correct way or traditional way, but it's a way that works for me, and an important step in documenting the build of this sword. I appreciate you watching and hope that this video inspires you to go out and create something awesome!

Forging a RECURVE CHOPPER from a HUGE piece of rebar: PART 2 FINISHED!!
Hello everyone and welcome to the forge! In this week's episode, I finish up the recurve chopper forged from a large piece of scrap grade 60 rebar. This build was a blast and gave me a chance to practice forging a knife to shape as well as forging bevels and grinding fullers. We ended up with a knife that has an overall length of 20.5 inches with a cutting edge of 13 inches. I hope this project inspires you to go out to your workshop and give it a try. As always I appreciate you watching and if you would hit that SUBSCRIBE button and ring the notification bell to be notified when my newest content posts.
*Rebar is a great way to practice forging techniques for little to no cost because it can be found frequently in scrap yards, it will harden to some degree in water or brine but it is always best to forge knives for use or to sell from a known steel such as 1084 or other high carbon steels.*
