Hello everyone and welcome to the forge! In this week's episode, I finish up the recurve chopper forged from a large piece of scrap grade 60 rebar. This build was a blast and gave me a chance to practice forging a knife to shape as well as forging bevels and grinding fullers. We ended up with a knife that has an overall length of 20.5 inches with a cutting edge of 13 inches. I hope this project inspires you to go out to your workshop and give it a try. As always I appreciate you watching and if you would hit that SUBSCRIBE button and ring the notification bell to be notified when my newest content posts.
*Rebar is a great way to practice forging techniques for little to no cost because it can be found frequently in scrap yards, it will harden to some degree in water or brine but it is always best to forge knives for use or to sell from a known steel such as 1084 or other high carbon steels.*
