Amos 7-9 are three visions from God about his pending judgement on Israeli, how this simple Shepard pleads with God not to destroy Israel. God is indeed merciful. These three chapters hold so much for our world today.

Today we cover chapters 4 through 6 in the Book of Amos. Amos, a Shepard and a prophet who warned the northern kingdom of Israel of God's judgement. What is interesting is the parallels Amos holds for us in the 21st Century.

After the ascension of Jesus Christ, the disciples had to replace Judas Iscariot. They were told to wait in Jerusalem until they were anointed by the Holy Spirt. This is the story of how the early Christians formed communities, and brought new believers into the fold.

The Book of Hebrews is usually attributed to an unknown author as it was not signed, the prose of Hebrews is very similar to Paul's. He may be the author. This book teaches about the Supremacy of Jesus Christ, and the three levels of salvation. It is also a warning about becoming complacent in our faith, and how we should strive to free ourselves from sin. Hebrews also guides us on our progress as Christians. Hebrews is not just a message to the Jews, it applies to all believers.

In this short Book of the Holy Bible John begins by telling us God's Word is incarnate, that we can have a relationship with the God, and his son, Jesus Christ. John then tells us God is light and in him is found no darkness, no deceit, that his son is the path to eternal life. John tells us that Jesus Christ is our advocate, and without him, we stand alone in judgement with no one to defend us. John tells us not to love the world, for the world does not know us because it did not know Jesus. In this modern day where we see the beginning of persecution against God's chosen people the Jews, we are also seeing the rise of persecution against Christians. But John tells us we must remember we are children of God, and that we should love one another, even though some may hate us. This world is passing from life to death and we must not condemn them, but rather continue to open a hand to show them God's love and help those who wish to find salvation. John also tells us to beware of false prophets, false preachers and false witnesses, that we can weigh what they say against the scripture to determine if they are true to God's word or they are using God's word for their own ends. Finally John tells us we must overcome the world, and not be a part of it. Live in it yes, but not to succumb to its wickedness, greed, lust for power. Many of our leaders today do not serve their people, rather they server their own interests to gain power and wealth for themselves. These are not leaders.

2 Thessalonians tells us what to expect in the end of days, the rebellion against God, the rise of the Anti-Christ, The return of Jesus to defeat the Anti-Christ. Paul goes on to explain that we should not be troubled, that we should lead productive lives, while keeping watch for the return of Jesus.

1 Thessalonians is a letter written by the Apostle Paul to the early Christian church in Thessalonica, a city in modern-day Greece. It's considered one of the earliest New Testament letters and sheds light on the beliefs and challenges faced by Christians in the first century. Does this ancient letter of Paul's to the Colossians have any relevance to our Modern World? The church of Colossi was troubled by the same problems we face today, and Paul describes in his letter what the church should do.

The world is rapidly declining into a moral morass, and the time may be short, we can stop what we are doing and worry about the end times, or we can be more like the people God would like us to become. Another sign of the End Times, and how the Bible helps us understand how we can counter division with love and unity.

Paul nearing the end of his life, writes a 2nd letter to his protege Timothy. Here Paul warns of the coming trials, he tells Timothy to prepare, and provides guidance for coping and enduring the hardships which are coming. He offers advice on how to prepare for it, and reminds us we are not alone in this spiritual war.

The Apostle Paul, a fervent follower of Christ, pens a letter to his young protégé, Timothy. This document, which we now know as 1 Timothy, is more than just an epistle; it's a treasure trove of guidance, a timeless testament to faith, conduct, and doctrine. In this letter, Paul offers Timothy advice on how to lead the early Christian community, but his words echo down the centuries, reaching us with an uncanny relevance.

Apollo 8 was launched on December 21, 1968 The spacecraft safely returned to Earth on December 27, 1968. It was the first mission to send human beings into orbit around the Moon. It was also the first time human eyes saw the far-side of the Moon. On Christmas eve, the crew of Apollo 8 sent a video message back to all of us on Earth. A message we should be reminded of from time to time, especially today in a world bent on never ending war, hatred, and division. My brother and I watched this mission from launch to splash down. I will never forget the impact it had on me.

As for told in Isaiah 9:1-7, a child born of the lineage of David, the Prince of Peace was born of a virgin, baptized by John, Tempted 3 times by Satan,Jesus gathers his followers and begins to preach his message

Paul's letter to the Galatians guides us on our journey of faith. Galatians is a message which reaches out to all people regardless of background, for all are the children of God.
