Desert Homestead Prepping

High winds have halted construction so we take to the hills the cut firewood and we do some rearranging to protect our trailer from the high winds.

We get hit by a flash floor when we arrive to the property and we work on a few odd and end jobs to get ready for winter.

The Double Cardan driveline setup on our old Ford Ranger was constantly wearing out. After rebuilding the driveline multiple time I decided to replace it with a standard driveline setup.

We desperately need more storage so we are building a large shed out of pallets.

We use an ATV snow plow to clear and level ground to start construction on a shed we are going to build out of pallets.

The Cabin gets a much needed paint job.

We take a break to look for new trails in the near by Mountains.

We install stripping to cover the exposed seams on the Siding. Also, the boys stack and organize another load of lumber.

Me and the boys take a trip up the mountain to harvest some flagstone for future projects on the Homestead.

We setup the Swamp coolers on the Cabin and the kids trailer. Also we get some awesome video of a late night Thunderstorm.

We take a short drive over the mountain to go fishing.

We make a run out to the property to check on things and drop off supplies that we have been gathering.

We go back to when we finished the well that was installed by the previous owner and show how we nearly lost everything.

We make a flange adapter for the stove pipe and Replace the broken damper on and old Eagle Foundry Cookstove before we take it out to the Property.

We have accumulated a lot of supplies that we are loading up to go out to the Homestead. Plus we start up the Tractor we just recently purchased.

In this video we setup a Rain Catchment system off of the Greenhouse. Also we lay down an experimental type of ground cover and setup the Watering System for the Garden.

Now that we are past the freezing temperatures it is time to get our gravity fed watering system going for the growing season.

The progress continues as we rebuild the Greenhouse.

We take a break from the work to go for a ride to see a natural spring.

We are rebuilding our Greenhouse bigger and much stronger to handle the high winds in our area.

Our greenhouse was destroyed by a wind storm. Now we are rebuilding it bigger and stronger.
