THE DECLINE & DEBUNKING OF BLACK FRIDAY SALES & CONSUMER PUNISHMENT | Car Chats with Sarah | EP 6
This week’s chat is all about debunking Black Friday sales and how over the years they’ve changed quite a bit to where they really are not deals. In other words, they have substantially declined. I also discuss also how some companies are punishing consumers by not using auto pay on their debit card.
Today, we're diving into the chaotic world of Black Friday sales. While many people are drawn to the idea of scoring incredible deals, the truth is, the Black Friday shopping frenzy might not be as beneficial as it seems.
Retailers go all out with flashy ads, promising doorbuster deals and massive discounts. But are these discounts as substantial as they claim to be? Probably not.
Black Friday sales have not been sales for years. It’s really just a way to get a bunch of consumers to spend a bunch of money.
I’ll give you an example. Apple obviously does not discount any of their products, they simply give you up to $200 gift card if you buy a MacBook.
We constantly live in a state of consumer debt.
**8 in 10 Americans have some form of consumer debt**, and the average debt in America is $38,000 not including mortgage debt.
