For myself - groundwork directly connects with what I want to do when in the saddle. Here's a mental Image to keep in mind when doing groundwork that will help with making the connection.

This video has a good safety though when your horses head drops below the whither.

This video was filmed at a neighboring ranch - while gathering about 300 head of cattle. All of livestock seems to understand angles in relationship to leverage and strength. It's an interesting concept,, one that we should try to understand or at least be aware that it exist. I give a few examples of it here.

Lena is a young mare a friend of mine has been working with. Although she's built and designed for cows, she's afraid of them. Dave, myself & Lena did a week's worth of work together prior to helping Gaiser cattle move a large group of cows. We primarily worked on Dave's ability to stay with the mare when she spun away. By the day of the gather she'd all but given up the spin move and was starting to develop some confidence around a big group of cows.
