Autel Robotics X-Star Premium Test Flight
My first test using the Autel Robotics X-Star Premium drone. I recorded this footage in beginner mode at 4k 30fps, and downscaled it to 1080p, as my computer has trouble handling full 4k video. The video settings were set to full auto, so I didn't adjust any of settings such as ISO, etc. There are no transitions between clips, or any other editing done, other than splicing together bits from a 20 minute flight. I filmed in a recreation area by where I work. We just missed a herd of deer that bolted when we came walking up.

Sarki Thermal Laminator Unboxing and Review
Subscribe if you like this video!
Disclaimer - I received this from Sarki in exchange for this unboxing and review video. Any opinion I give in the video is in no way influenced by that fact. Bottom line - if it's crap, I'll tell you so.
So, I was contacted by Sarki, a company who makes various types of small appliances. They asked me if I'd be willing to do a couple of product reviews for them. They offered to send me this laminator at no cost in order for me to look it over, review it, and post my reviews on various social media platforms that I use.
I have a bunch of places that I can use a laminator like this, so I was all in. Want to read more about it? See my full written review on my blog here:

I put the unit through its paces, and I'm pretty impressed with the unit. The price is a bit steep, but if you're going to use it, spend the extra money and get something like this that's going to work for what you need it to do, and will last.

Sarki Air Fryer XL Unboxing and Review
So, I was contacted by Sarki, a company who makes various types of small appliances. They asked me if I'd be willing to do a couple of product reviews for them. They offered to send me a thermal laminator at no cost in order for me to look it over, review it, and post my reviews on various social media platforms that I use. I did that, and then they offered to send me this 12 Qt air fryer as well. I was super-excited, as I've wanted to try an air fryer for a long time.

I have to say that after testing it, I really like it. It not only cooks things so that they turn out as though they were fried, but it does it extremely fast as well! The only real downside on it is the price. At about $230, it's going to be outside of the budget for a lot of people, but if you think about it, this unit will replace a toaster, a toaster oven, and possibly even the microwave because of how quickly it cooks. The convenience and speed factors of the microwave are why it's ubiquitous (everywhere), but this thing could give the good old microwave a run for its money.

Roraima Easy Setup Folding Camping Table Review
So, I heard that a company called Roraima wanted someone to take their product, a folding aluminum camping table, out and test it and then post some reviews on it. I contacted them and told them that I'd be interested, so they sent it to me at no cost for me to do the reviews for them. In no way does getting it for free affect my rating, as you'll see in the video.
Full Disclaimer - I received this from Roraima in exchange for this review video. Any opinion I give in the video is in no way influenced by that fact. Bottom line - if it's crap, I'll tell you so.

I have to say that after testing it, I like it. It's really light, weighing in at just over 10 lbs, so it's not going to break your back carrying it if you're hiking somewhere, or wanting to go on a picnic, or concert on the lawn. It sets up in only a couple of minutes as well. I didn't even discuss the price in my video, but found that this one is a bit less expensive than a number of other brands out there, none of which seemed any better. At one time, this was listed as the 'Amazon Choice' product on the Amazon website, but now their larger, wider, slightly more expensive model is. This will stay in my (growing) pile of camping gear! #CAMPINGTABLE

Tolifo PT15B LED Video Light Unboxing Review
I got this light using a discount code provided by Tolifo so that I could purchase it, evaluate it, and give my honest opinion on it to see if it would be an idea drop-in replacement for the DIY lights I currently use for my unboxing and product review videos.
I've recorded some video, including the unboxing and test photos and have started evaluating. I like the flexibility of having a battery-powered light. The light is a bit harsh, but during my initial testing, I was 24 inches away from the object I was photographing. I'll keep testing, and see what I think.
For comparison, I paid roughly $16 each for the three DIY lights I have, which have been used in the filming of every one of my product review videos. The Tolifo light, with an AC adapter instead of the battery will run you around $40. With an NP-F series battery can run a little bit more, depending on which battery you go with.

Tolifo PT-30B Pro LED Video Light Unboxing and Review
I got this light using a discount code provided by Tolifo so that I could purchase it, evaluate it, and give my honest opinion on it. I previously reviewed three other lights, including the PT-15B Pro, which is the little brother of this light.
I've recorded some sample video, including the unboxing and test video to get a feel for how this light compares to the smaller PT-15B. I like the flexibility of having a fairly powerful battery-powered light. As I discovered, it fits in my hard case that I store/carry my other lights in, so I can have all 4 of these small, low-cost lights in one carry case if I need to take them somewhere.
For comparison, the PT-15B is currently $34 on Amazon, and is listed as an Amazon's Choice. The PT-30B runs $50. Keep in mind that this unit will require 2 NP-F series batteries. The Wasabi Power kit that I use runs $44 and includes 2 batteries and a charger.
So, for the flexibility of having a more powerful, yet still portable light, with 2 batteries and a charger, you're looking at almost $100.

The Fate of the MONSTER Ammo Can Speaker
A few years ago, I discovered DIY ammo can speakers. Because I subscribe to the philosophy of Adam and Jamie, which is 'Anything that can be done can be over done', I built a MONSTER. It was feature-packed, LOUD, and heavy-which was its undoing.
The speaker was built using a 20mm ammo can, which by itself weighed around 20lbs before adding any components. It featured a pair of Kenwood 6 1/2" car stereo speakers, that were powered by a 2-channel, 50w per channel amplifier. The system had 4 different selectable inputs, including a Raspberry Pi 3b+ with the official RPi 7" touchscreen running Volumio. It also had 2 3.5mm (1/8") stereo inputs, as well as a single RCA input.
Power was supplied by switching between A/C wall power, and internal battery packs. The RPi and display were powered by their own 20000mAh power pack, the amplifier was powered by an 18650-based lithium ion power pack, and there were LED lights built into the unit that were also powered by a third 18650 power pack.

I wanted to talk about my DIY composter project that I did a month or two ago. I wanted to add a second composter, but found that the commercially available units cost around $100, and I wasn't willing to pay that much for something I could do myself.
I ended up using a black plastic 55 gallon rain barrel that cost me $15, plus about 20 minutes of my time to make. Now it's working for me, churning out nice, rich compost for my backyard garden.

Monster Adventure Max Bluetooth Speaker Unboxing and Initial Thoughts
I got a sample of the Adventure Max bluetooth speaker from Monster for an unboxing and initial review. Overall, I really like the build of this speaker, and wish my recording and YouTube did the audio samples justice. It's sounds great, and is from a company with a decades-long history with audiophiles like me.

Note: I edited the original video due to a copyright claim on the music I used, so I reshot the audio sampling portion using music that I purchased licensing for, so there are no copyright issues with this one.

Mulwark Pocket Hole Jig Review and First Thoughts
It's been a while since I uploaded a video! I've got a few in the pipe right now, so stay tuned for those!
One of my 'regular guy' interests is woodworking. A few years ago, I saw a drill jig called a 'pocket hole' jig. It's used for drilling a 15-degree angled channel into a piece of wood where it meets an adjacent piece of wood. You then put a screw in through the channel to join the two pieces. This way, the screws are hidden from view, and you can make a theoretically stronger joint than if you simply put a screw in from the outside. There are also places you simply can't put a screw in due to the width of the wood you're using, and this is a perfect option for that.
Anyway, at the time, these kits were fairly expensive, coming in at about $70 if memory serves me correctly. I didn't do enough woodworking to justify that cost, so years went by before I got a chance to get one. I was contacted by Mulwark, a company that makes small, inexpensive tool and consumables kits, asking me if I'd be interested in looking at their kit. I said yes, so they sent me this kit to review.
I did a quick overview of the kit, and planned on ending it there, but I realized that I didn't want to put the thing away. I grabbed some scrap wood to play with it, and ended up building something useful - a square riser for a planter in my garden!
This kit prices in at around $30, and is available at Amazon here:

Bugani Bluetooth Speaker Unboxing and Initial Thoughts
Hot on the heels of my last portable bluetooth speaker review, I received a sample of the M83 bluetooth speaker from Bugani for an unboxing and initial review. It's sounds great, although my initial testing leads me wanting it to be a bit louder.

Unboxing & First Look: Dayette 1800 sqft HEPA Air Purifier
I recently was contacted by Dayette about doing an unboxing and quick review of their HEPA Air Purifier for up to 1800sqft rooms. In today's climate, you see HEPA filters practically everywhere, especially in doctors and dentists offices, and even many office buildings due to the possibility of infectious disease.
For those of us living with seasonal allergies, HEPA filters are present in many rooms in our homes, if not all of them. When Dayette asked me to look at this unit, I jumped at the chance, as this unit has some of the best features I've ever seen on a HEPA filter.

Low Carb Muffin Pan Frittatas
I just cooked up a batch of frittatas with ham, bell peppers and onions. I got hooked on some that I found at the grocery store, but figured I could doctor them and make something of my own. So, I found a recipe online, used it, and gave it a shot. My first batch turned out quite tasty.
You can make these, freeze them, and then microwave them for about 50 seconds, flip them over, and heat for another 50 seconds to warm them to eat. Top with salsa, Texas Pete (my personal favorite), or anything you might put on eggs. If you're on the go and are eating them out of hand, just heat them up and go. As is, they are low-carb and high in protein.
The recipe is below:
Ingredients: 2 cups finely diced ham
1 1/3 cups finely grated cheese, if desired
1 bell pepper, finely diced
1/3 of a large onion, finely diced
15 eggs, beaten well
Salt and pepper to taste
Other spices, if desired
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a muffin pan liberally, or these WILL stick. I greased mine with shortening, and they still stuck.
Finely dice the ham, bell pepper, and onion. I microwaved the onion in a glass bowl for 1 minute to reduce the 'breath-effects' of onions. The 20-30 minutes of cook time might take care of this on its own, but I didn't want to take the chance.
Crack the eggs into a large bowl and salt and pepper if desired. Beat well. I used a hand mixer to make sure it was well-beaten and smooth.
Layer the diced ingredients in the muffin pan, with cheese if you desire. Fill no more than 2/3 of the way. Pour the beaten eggs into the cups, making sure you leave some room for expansion. Use a fork to mix the diced ingredients and the egg.
These will puff up like a souffle in the oven, although they do shrink while cooling. The original recipe that I started from stated that it made a dozen, but I ended up with 18, even without using cheese in my first dozen. I then made 6 more with just egg and cheese.
Cook for about 23 minutes, and check for doneness. I ended up going about 29 minutes on mine, as I like my egg to be a bit drier than some might like. It makes for easier eating when you're in the car on the way to work - the way I usually eat breakfast.
Next time, I think I'll modify the process a bit. I will try greasing the muffin tins and then powdering them with flour. I've never had a cake stick when doing this. Keep in mind that if you are going low-carb, this will add a small amount of carbohydrates. I will try not cooking the onions to see what effect that has on the overall flavor. I'll probably also just combine the veggies, ham, and add the cheese to a large bowl, and then drop this mixture into the cups. I might also add some diced mushrooms as well. You can change the ham out for just about any type of meat you like. I might try some breakfast sausage, ground Italian sausage, or bacon. You can't go wrong with bacon.

Joe Satriani - If I Could Fly - Incomplete
Joe Satriani Live in North Carolina. Pardon the shaky camera work. Point and shoot camera's aren't always the best at capturing video. Shot from first row center. I had a tech issue that cut the song a little short, unfortunately.

Weird Al - Mandatory Fun Concert
I attended this concert in August, 2016. This was without at a doubt the most fun I've had in a long time. Al is a very energetic performer, as are his musicians. They are all very talented, and put everything in to every show.
I apologize for the quality of the images. They were taken (with permission of the house) with my phone.
Unfortunately, I couldn't use one of his songs for the background music due to copyright issues.
