Tip Tuesday S01E04 - Motivation vs Inspiration
Motivation vs Inspiration - What is the difference?
We heard of the famous story of the coach that took his team to win the most amount of championships in NBA history. How did he do it? What was his secret sauce?
Was it Motivation?
Or was it Inspiration?
What would be the difference?
Try to think back to the time when you last watched a motivational speech - how long did that motivation last for?
Think back to the last time you read a motivational quote - how long did that last for?
Now, try to think of the story of the man who went from rags to riches - how does that make you feel?
Inspiration = something internal
Motivation = external and short lived.
Inspiration is a driving force that feeds daily motivation.

Tip Tuesday S01E03 - Employee Takes Vacation Time During High Season
Ever dealt with an employee that wants to take time off during the high business season?
An employee decided to take time off work during his employer’s high business season.
As the employer what would you have done?
Fire him?
Confront him?
I was shocked to hear that the employer was considering these options without any further investigation or looking into the situation.
A better solution would have been to have an open and transparent discussion to find out the employee’s needs and where they are coming from. Perhaps they need time to work on their relationships? Perhaps they are feeling overworked and afraid of burnout?
Employees and employers are in a relationship, and relationships are had with real people.

Tip Tuesday S01E02 - Challenges vs Speedbumps
Challenges vs Speedbumps - it's all about passion and intention.
When we see life as just one big hardship it becomes challenging, we lost our passion and our drive, which then ultimately eats away at our motivation and happiness levels.
The alternative is that as we discussed before about little roadblocks in our paths and our need to overcome or circumvent those blocks, now we see them as little speed bumps along the way. A speedbump’s intention is to slow you down, recenter your focus, recenter your purpose, recenter your intentions. You are passionate and motivated to still reach your destination, but you just need to reassure yourself that you are not speeding and you are not leaving anything behind along the way. You are making sure that your intentions are aligned with the purpose. Making the speedbump necessary to attain your higher levels of success.
How do you perceive the little speedbumps in your life? How do you overcome them?

Tip Tuesday S01E01 - Challenges vs Roadblocks
Challenges vs Roadblocks - it's all about perspective.
Some people will see hardships as challenges - which can get overwhelming. While others will see those same challenges as roadblocks - which simply need to get solved and overcome.
The reason why the proactive people see hardships as roadblocks is because they are already "traveling on the path" - those who see them as challenges, are people who are generally afraid to start walking down the path in the first place. How can it be a roadblock if you're not on the road?
How do you define the hardships that you face in life? How do you overcome them?
