#GodFirst For today's episode, we chose to give some love and respect to just a few of the people who have been a huge influence in our lives. If we tired to name everyone in one video, we would be here for days. Claudia and I are truly blessed with the presence of great people in our life. So to keep this video under an hour, we chose to thank 3 people each. We also made sure to exclude our parents, siblings and children because our gratitude for them goes beyond what we could put in words. Children: -George -Christian -Marina -Isaiah -Alec -Justice -Antonio -Emmanuella -Evangelia Grandchildren: -Zephaniah -Hunter -Amethyst -Tyler OK, now for the gratitude to special people in our lives. We started with Pete Bramm, a great brother in Christ. Thank you for the sound proofing which will only help us get better. Everything we have done so far for our studio has come directly from our own pockets. But God! God has brought us friends like Pete Bramm who want to pour into this ministry, into this podcast and into our mission. 1 Chronicles 16 : 34 NKJV Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! Claudia thanks: -Michael (Mike) & Christine (Chris) Cox who introduced her to her first Bible study and even baptized her on Thanksgiving weekend, many moons ago. They showed Claudia what a Kingdom marriage truly looks like. -Adriana (Adri) Bustamante who has been a huge supporter of Claudia's journey with the Lord. She has known Claudia since she was 18 and they have remained friends ever since (37+ years). George thanks: -Ramon (Big Ray) Torres who is George's oldest friend. They have walked through many of the same obstacles together, back in Williamsburg Brooklyn. -Karen Valentin who is the sister God gave George even though she is not biologically related. George and Karen have been George and Karen for some of the toughest times. Karen is more of a sister to George than she would have been if Ostacio and Minerva had given her life. -Felix Manuel Rosario (Junior), who was George's partner in crime. The cousin that was there to get in trouble with George and who never turned his back on him. Cousins who created a bond that will outlast this life. Of course, The Rosarios took the time to thank members of the military. Why wait for Veteran's Day or Memorial Day? We all should take the time to thank a member of the military or has put their own life on the line for the rest of us. For all veterans, active members, and family members of military members, thank you. I had lunch with Pastor Will Torres of Proclaim Church [ https://proclaimchurch.org/ ] and he said a very POWERFUL comment. I am paraphrasing but it was something about prayer being the engine and fuel of the church. This is so true. Consulting for churches has taught us something truly powerful; praying churches are usually stronger churches. Did you know that there are churches where prayer is not something that receives much attention? This is just my suggestion but, if you are part of a church that does not encourage its members to pray, you should approach the leadership with a request to start a prayer circle and/or a prayer ministry. If this request is not met with enthusiasm by the church’s leadership (pastors, leaders and elders), perhaps you should start looking for another church. Again, that is just my suggestion. You can act on it or pass. But before you do, let’s look at the importance and effectiveness of prayer. Jabez prayed for strength, prosperity and protection, and God granted his request (I Chronicles‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/114/1ch.4.10.NKJV). A church that understands the power of prayer will encourage its members and partners to pray. The same is true in the Christian household and in Christian families. A household that prays together is usually far stronger than a household where family members pray separately. We are not advocating for you to go into debt in order to tithe, and if there a pastor that is telling you to give 10% even if you have to borrow or put your bills on your credit card because you've given that 10% to the church. #GodFirst In this Vlog, we discuss the importance of having a strong prayer life. In Matthew 6:6-13 NKJV But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Prayer is so important that Jesus taught us how to pray, with reverence, a healthy fear, and with authority in Him (Jesus). Your prayer should be a conversation with The Creator of the universe and all in it. We pray to a God that has no tolerance for those who refuse to repent, and complete grace towards those who repent and ask for forgiveness. Turn around and return to The Father.
