In this short study, we look at the importance of recognizing evil as evil, even when it is so small that many would say 'ignore it'. Sometimes those little things indicate a problem that must be dealt with before it becomes a raging monster.

Like most people, I had never even thought to ask what books the Nazis were burning and why. Liberals have certainly told us how terrible it was for these books to be burned, but they never say what the books were. We'll look at the answers to those questions through the lens of the burning of books that happened in Ephesus as recorded in the Bible.

Because of the differences between the Greek Bible manuscripts, we know that changes were made. We can see that the vast number of changes were trivial and even sometimes unintentional. Some weren't. In this study, we see an example where someone tried to insert trinity doctrine. Sometime later, people saw what had been done and ripped it out.

People deal with fear in many ways but God wants us to be fearless. Even though things happen that could cause us to fear, the Bible says faith and love will keep the fear out of us. The Bible says a lot about fear, as we will see.

The world sees mankind as one of many other animals but we do not. The world looks at only the bones, muscles and sinews and says we are only animals. The truth can be seen without relying on the Bible. In this study we look at some differences we can see that confirm for us that the Bible is true and it was written by God.

From its fight with the Roman Catholic Church, the Protestant reformers produced 5 statements about the faith. These 'only' (latin 'sola') statements were boundaries that had been crossed by that church. In this study we look at those, what they mean, what the Catholic church was doing, and how Protestant churches have applied them.

This lesson is not about slavery. The real point is that there are many times when the church has decided to go with the flow instead of teaching God's word. Slavery is an example where the church is still failing.

A news story author used the word 'telekinesis' to refer to what was being done by Elon Musk's Neuralink. In saying that, he captured the essence of the real question. What drives us ... what is guiding us to build the technology we choose to build? Looking at the history of what mankind has created, a pattern emerges.

The word 'backsliding' is used to describe a person who was a believer but has now become an unbeliever. That isn't sliding back a little. That's sliding all the way back and out the door. It's a euphemism for turning to a life of sin. There is a real backsliding in the Bible but it is called 'shaken' in faith. We look at this and what things can cause us to be shaken and how we prepare for them.

If you are looking for a Bible that is a very literal, word-for-word, translation, there is a new Bible. It is based on the New American Standard Bible (NASB), which was already considered one of the most literal. The LSB is even more so.

With the leaders in our churches promoting each others books and describing them as ways to know the scripture deeper, are we being led away from relying on the Holy Spirit to guide us?
