Taking advantage of another Sunday to continue work on the restoration of S/V Gypsea Girl.

This is the first video of a full restoration of my 27 ft. Hunter sailboat that was my home from 1990 through 2002. She was sailed from my former home in Panama City, Florida to her new home in Charleston, South Carolina in 2014 with the help from my two cousins, Jim and John Douglas. I have a renewed spirit and motivation to make her sea worthy again for future sailing adventures throughout the Carolinas and beyond.

This is a second try to hunt for a trophy buck.

This is my first deer hunt and opportunity to hunt with my Hawken 50cal. muzzle loader.

Last spring, I found a muzzle loader rifle for sale. I know nothing about muzzle loaders but have always been interested in American History, early pioneer exploration, and battles of both the Revolutionary War and Civil War. I thought is would be cool to learn the procedures of how to fire and maintain a muzzle loader. I also wanted to know how our ancestors may have felt hunting with a primitive weapon.

My son-in-law, Jeff Reid, invited me to go bream fishing on Lake Murray in Lexington county, South Carolina. I never refuse an invitation to go fishing!

My grandson, Jeff Reid, invited me to a stripper fishing trip on the Congaree River in Columbia, South Carolina. I have a desire to fulfill another bucket list objective to catch and mount a large stripper for my bottle room.

My grandson Jeff Reid invited me on a redfish fishing trip in Goose Creek, South Carolina. It has resulted in accomplishing another bucket list item of mounting a legal maximum sized redfish for my bottle room.

The McKissick Museum on the campus of the University of South Carolina hosted a collection of Thomas Chandler pottery from early Edgefield, South Carolina. The exhibit was the result of private collectors who colluded to consign pieces for one year to the university to highlight the history and culture of early potters of pre-civil war South Carolina.

I have decided to take a weekend off from boat restoration on S/V Gypsea Girl to take advantage of an invitation by family to enjoy a day of boating on Lake Murray in Lexington County, South Carolina.

This is the next step to prepare the transom for sanding and paint.

With help from my good friend Tim, we mark the transom for the new outboard motor bracket, pack the mainsail, remove the boom, and find an excellent restaurant for lunch on Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Hurricane Dorian blows through Charleston and Cooper River Marina. I have a great amount of trepidation about how well Gypsea Girl fared in the storm and make the two hour trip to the marina to check her condition.

This is the last day and chance to get that bucket list trophy buck for the 2020 deer season. I am already looking forward to opportunities for next year.

I have the opportunity to fulfill a bucket list objective by taking a skydiving trip in South Carolina.

This video highlights my first experiences deer hunting. I bought an early version of a 50 cal.,Thompson Center Arms Hawken muzzle loader last year at a flea market and became interested in adding a trophy buck to my bucket list. I wanted to accomplish the task in a nastalgic manner by using a vintage style muzzle loader. I was invited by my son- in-law to spend three days sitting a deer stand on private property in South Carolina.

My cousin Jim trailered his 17 ft Hunter sailboat to my prior home in Panama City, Florida for a sea trial.
