Terms, Factors, and Coefficients in Expressions
In this video, I show you how to identify the terms, factors, and coefficients in an expression. This aligns with Common Core standard CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.HSA.SSE.A.1.A.

Factoring Quadratics Where a = 1, 4 Problems!
In this video, I factor quadratics of the form ax^2 + bx + c, where a = 1. I factor the following quadratics.
1. x^2 - 6x + 8
2. x^2 + 4x + 3
3. x^2 - x - 42
4. x^2 - x - 6
The method I use to factor these quadratics is the following:
- Step 1: List the factors of c in factor pairs. c is the constant in the quadratic.
- Step 2: Find the pair of factors that adds to b, the middle coefficient of the quadratic.
- Step 3: Write in factored form. For instance if the factors of c that added to b were 5 and 8, the factored form would be (x + 5)(x + 8).
While factoring these quadratics I play some music from the YouTube audio free library. Specifically I use a song called, "Walking in the Sky" as background music. This song is from the artist Nico Staf.
