How the Mud Boys Created Book Club
http://www.growingexposed.com/
Justin meets Axel, Pete, and Adolfo, the first two are known as the Mud Boys. Their collective journey began as a small gathering in a park, after Pete and Axel initially met in Adolfo’s class. As cannabis enthusiasts, they shared a passion for cultivation, leading them to form a community that has grown and flourished over time.
The essence of Book Club lies in its role as a community-driven collective, bringing together individuals from various facets of the cannabis industry. The founders stress the importance of creating a space for like-minded people to connect, appreciate cannabis, and share their experiences. The community aspect extends beyond mere gatherings; it involves developing relationships, co-creating, and collectively influencing the cannabis landscape.
As the community evolved, so did its goals. Book Club became a platform for cannabis enthusiasts to meet, discuss, and explore unique strains and flavors. The founders highlight the significance of cultivating a diverse and connected network, emphasizing that it's not just about smoking together but actively participating in the growth and development of the cannabis community.
The conversation takes an interesting turn as the Mud Boys discuss the importance of differentiation in the cannabis market. They acknowledge the challenges faced by boutique strains in a market saturated with popular varieties. The emphasis is on preserving and appreciating unique genetics, ensuring that the community determines what is considered the "fire" or top-tier cannabis.
The Mud Boys reflect on the collaborative and community-driven nature of the cannabis industry. They stress the value of working with renowned individuals, both young and old, who contribute to the cultivation and breeding process. The focus is on authenticity, preserving the original cut from breeder to grower, and avoiding the widespread dissemination of genetics. This approach ensures a boutique quality and helps the community decide collectively on the most outstanding strains.
The term "Mud Boys" is explained as a lighthearted name that emerged during the Unicorn Cup a couple of years ago, reflecting their down-to-earth and approachable nature. The Mud Boys, or Book Club, actively engage with the community through events and social media, creating a space for producers and consumers to connect and share their love for cannabis.
In essence, Book Club Sessions: Mud Boys embodies a dynamic and evolving cannabis community that celebrates authenticity, collaboration, and the continuous exploration of unique strains and flavors. The Mud Boys, with their genuine passion for the plant, have cultivated not just a group but a movement that aims to redefine and shape cannabis culture.

S4 EP2 Thailand Becomes The First Country in Asia to Legalize Cannabis, But... That Could Change!
http://www.growingexposed.com/
Exploring the Evolution of Cannabis in Thailand: Growing Exposed's Journey to the First-Ever 420 Party
In a world where perceptions and attitudes toward cannabis are rapidly changing, one country's transformation stands out as a testament to the evolving cannabis culture. Thailand, a nation known for its rich history and traditions, has been navigating its relationship with cannabis, and the journey has been nothing short of remarkable. In 2023, Growing Exposed embarked on a groundbreaking adventure to Thailand, capturing the essence of this transformation as they attended the country's inaugural 420 party. Led by host Justin Cooper, the team delved deep into Thailand's cannabis landscape, shedding light on the challenges, progress, and celebration surrounding the plant.
From Prohibition to Progress: Thailand's Cannabis Evolution
Much like its North American counterparts, Thailand has experienced a complex and tumultuous history with cannabis. A mere couple of years ago, the mere possession of cannabis could lead to a life sentence. The winds of change, however, have been blowing strong. In recent years, Thailand has taken courageous steps towards the legalization of cannabis. While progress has been made, a backdrop of opposing voices continues to create tension and debate within the nation.
A Historic Journey Begins: Growing Exposed's Arrival
As the Growing Exposed team arrived in Thailand, anticipation filled the air. They found themselves in a country that was once staunchly against cannabis, now opening its doors to a new era. The team's mission was clear: to witness the very first legal 420 event in Asia. The excitement was palpable, and the experience promised to offer a comprehensive look at cannabis in Thailand – from cultivation to consumption.
Pioneers of Progress: Thai Cannabis Growers
Amidst the celebration, the Growing Exposed team engaged with pioneers who have been tirelessly working to redefine cannabis cultivation in Thailand. While some may have expected outdated stereotypes like "Thai stick" and brickweed, they were met with a pleasant surprise. The Thai cannabis landscape was brimming with innovation and dedication, reflecting the resilience of local growers. Though there's room for growth and refinement, the commitment to quality and craftsmanship was evident.
Reflecting on the journey, Justin Cooper and his team acknowledged the stark contrast from their previous visit eight years prior. What was once a hushed and clandestine endeavor has now emerged into the open, with growers showcasing their skill and passion for the plant. The transformation was nothing short of surreal, a testament to the power of societal evolution.
Conclusion: A Journey of Transformation
The Growing Exposed team's expedition to Thailand unveiled a nation in the midst of a profound transformation. From the shadows of prohibition to the vibrant light of acceptance, Thailand's journey with cannabis reflects the broader global shift in attitudes. The first-ever 420 party in the country was not merely an event; it was a symbol of progress, unity, and celebration. As Thailand continues to navigate the intricacies of cannabis legality and culture, the world watches with anticipation, recognizing the power of change and the potential for a brighter, more accepting future.

Update:
On August 22, 2023, the path of cannabis legalization took an unexpected turn in Thailand when newly elected Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin assumed office.
Unfortunately for recreational cannabis users, Srettha ran a hardline anti-drug campaign and has since vowed to rewrite regulations, restricting cannabis exclusively to medical patients.
With an estimated timeline of 6 months for these changes, we'll be tracking Thailand's evolving cannabis policy.

S4 EP1 The Most Sustainable Cannabis Brand In Cannabis | Talking Trees
Our Website: http://www.growingexposed.com/
Check out the episode here: https://growingexposed.com/season-4-episode-1-talking-trees/
In the lush landscapes of Humboldt, California, where the winds whisper secrets to the towering trees and the air is laced with the aroma of possibility, a story of innovation and dedication unfolds. In a captivating video, Justin takes us on an extraordinary journey through the heart of the cannabis cultivation industry, led by none other than Craig Nejedly, a true pioneer whose passion for cannabis has spanned over two and a half decades.
The adventure begins in an unexpected location – the back of a skate shop – where Craig Nejedly’s cannabis cultivation journey was sown. Over 25 years ago, he started in a one-bedroom apartment in San Francisco, in a time when the industry was far from refined. As Craig reminisces, “This was like 1998; we didn’t even know carbon filters existed.” The unfiltered honesty of those early days, where the scent of the plant would envelop whole buildings, reveals just how far the industry has come.
From those humble beginnings, Craig’s journey has led him to become a trailblazer in both indoor and outdoor cultivation. Nestled behind his skate shop is one of his legacy gardens, a room that has remained hidden since 2010, a testament to the pre-legalization era. As Justin guides us through this once-secret operation, the legacy of those who paved the way becomes tangible.
But Craig’s influence reaches beyond cultivation. He’s an entrepreneur with a vision rooted in sustainability, a founder of the Satori Movement – a brand synonymous with pure awareness and living in the present moment. As he describes it, “It means pure awareness and a sense of enlightenment, but it is kinda like that mindful flow of just doing something… not thinking about it, and it just happens.” This ethos seeps into his cannabis endeavors, where innovation meets conscientiousness.
The journey continues into a cutting-edge production and processing facility, where technology and automation blend seamlessly with the legacy of the land. In a world where automation reigns, the symphony of machinery crafting exceptional products for Craig’s renowned line, Talking Trees, is a sight to behold. Here, the fusion of tradition and modernity is striking, a tribute to an industry in evolution.
Yet, it’s within the confines of a frigid shipping container that true artistry is witnessed. Here, a team of individuals, bundled against the cold, engage in the age-old practice of sifting and washing fresh frozen to create bubble hash. While it may seem rudimentary, this delicate dance of technique and passion is the embodiment of a craft that has stood the test of time.
As the journey winds its way to a remote farm, the untouched beauty of Humboldt’s landscapes unfolds. This region, with its rugged roads and breathtaking vistas, has long been a haven for those seeking a simpler existence. Since the 1960s and 70s, people have flocked to these hills, finding freedom in living off the land, cultivating not just crops but a way of life. The remoteness offers privacy, the elevation unveils awe-inspiring panoramas, and the entire experience fosters a deeper connection to nature.
As the sun sets on this remarkable day, the admiration for Craig Nejedly and his dedication to the plant is undeniable. Through this video journey, Justin has offered us a glimpse into the life of a pioneer who has left an indelible mark on the cannabis cultivation industry. As we bid adieu to this captivating exploration, one thing is clear – the growth of cannabis extends beyond cultivation; it’s a testament to human innovation, sustainability, and an unbreakable bond with nature.
Until the next adventure, the grow has been exposed, and the legacy lives on.

The Intersection of cannabis cultivation and salmon fishing in Sooke, BC.
The beautiful coastal waters of Sooke, British Columbia, are known for their world-famous salmon fishing. However, there is another thriving industry in the region that is just as fascinating - cannabis cultivation. In this episode, we will explore the intersection of these two industries and take a closer look at the micro-cultivation facility, BC Cannabis Inc., and its legendary grower, Albert Eppinga. We will also learn about the challenges Albert faced when transitioning from the black market to the legal market and the secrets of his super-tight garden.
Introduction:
As I embarked on my journey to Sooke, British Columbia, I had two main goals in mind: to experience the world-famous BC salmon fishing and to explore the thriving BC cannabis cultivation industry. As I arrived in Sooke, I was immediately struck by the natural beauty of the coastal waters. The blue-green hues of the ocean were mesmerizing, and I couldn't wait to cast my line and see what kind of fish I could catch.
Exploring BC Cannabis Inc. and its Legendary Grower, Albert Eppinga:
Later, I visited BC Cannabis Inc., a micro-cultivation facility that was renowned for its high-quality cannabis strains. I was introduced to Albert Eppinga, the legendary grower who had spent years perfecting his craft. Albert had grown up on the island of Haida Gwaii, where fishing had been a way of life for centuries. He had started growing cannabis in the black market but made the difficult transition into the legal business.
Overcoming Challenges of Transitioning from the Black Market to Legal Market:
Albert's journey from the black market to the legal market was not an easy one. He had to navigate numerous rules and regulations, and he had no experience running a high-tech enterprise. However, with the help of Shaye Donald, a design consultant at Hawthorne Garden Company, he was able to overcome these challenges.
Overcoming Challenges with Efficient Design by Hawthorne Garden Company:
Hawthorne Garden Company is a team of experts in efficient growing methods. They design everything from lighting, benches, irrigation, and fertilization to maximize every square inch of cultivation spaces. One of the challenges at Albert's BC Cannabis was the limited space available. They had to be innovative and efficient with their design, taking into consideration airflow, lighting, and other factors.
One of the essential elements in the efficient cultivation of cannabis is water. At Albert's BC Cannabis, there was no municipal water or well available, so the team had to rely on water delivered by a truck. They had to be efficient in their water use, which is where Grodan Rockwool came in handy. Grodan Rockwool has a great air-to-water ratio, which is useful when draining to waste. This method minimizes the potential of pathogens in the room.
According to Shaye, Grodan Rockwool is like a race car. It's high performance but can be easy to crash. However, with the right practices, the results can be like a Formula One driver. At Albert's at BC Cannabis, redundancy was in mind right from the start. Two pumps were installed, one for each room, with a bypass. In case one pump fails, turning a couple of ball valves ensures that water is still supplied to either room.
The design at Albert's at BC Cannabis allowed for different zones with different irrigation lines, depending on the needs of the plants. This is useful in ensuring that each plant receives the right amount of nutrients and water. The design was also plug-and-play, making it simple to operate.
Conclusion
As I reflected on my journey, I was struck by the intersection of these two seemingly unrelated industries. The art and science behind efficient cannabis cultivation were fascinating, and the beauty of the coastal waters was awe-inspiring. The journey had been an enlightening one, and I left Sooke with a newfound appreciation for the natural beauty and entrepreneurial spirit of the region.
