Description

This is a story about a dream. A dream about building a car. It started when I was about 5 years old. I had many starts over the years. Sometimes a car would never get past the drawing stage. Not that I'm a good drawer, but would try and capture what my mind was thinking. The cars in mind would always be of earlier, pre~war vehicles. One time I took a Datsun pickup and stripped it down to the frame. I was going to try and build a body from scratch. I failed. With not a single skill other than what a simple laborer might have. I was poor, but yet I still dreamed. This was long before the rise of the skilled artisan fabricator became so popular.

Around 2000, I found a 1920 7~passenger Hudson Phaeton. The nose and cowl were near perfect condition. It was rough but appeared to be complete. Long story short, I took the nose and decided I was going to make a rough, unsophisticated ride that looked like it might have been built in the 50's... After about 15 years of wheeling and dealing, collecting and hundreds of hours of thought, this is what I came up with. A 1920 Hudson Custom Roadster... It's still a work in progress but I'm extremely happy with how it's turned out. It's a rat
