During a simple block walk on Labor Day weekend, I witnessed a glaring example of derelict city management: broken water mains left unrepaired for weeks by the city of Houston, wasting millions of gallons of water. Meanwhile, residents were on water conservation notices, struggling with basic necessities. Such negligence is unacceptable and indicative of officials who are indifferent to our needs.
