Scientists at the University of Surrey have studied the "renewable benefits of birdcage" and tested whether it actually improves a person's mood. Scientists discovered that of all the natural sounds, birds' songs and calls were most often mentioned as helping people recover from stress and anxiety and allowing them to regain their attention and focus. It revealed that large numbers of different types of birds are in decline, such as house sparrows, starlings, and swifts, while nightingales, European turtle pigeons and gray partridges are declining towards extinction
