Effect of Support Type on the Value of Support Reactions (Beams/Frames)
The fixity provided at a support (i.e. the type of support) has a major role in deciding the load distribution among the supports. This video illustrates this behavior with the help of application of point load and uniformly distributed load on a single span beam (with fixed, pin / roller supports) and two span beam (with fixed, pin / roller supports).
