This is hands down the most successful day on the water I've ever had with my buddy Shawn who always puts us on the awesome fish! We caught Speckled Trout, Pinn Fish (good ones), Black Drum, Sheepshead, Gag Grouper and a Catfish! All the glory goes to the Lord for this one. How well does the Pond Prowler mini fishing boat hold up against 15MPH winds with 20MPH gusts in the bay? Pretty dang good! This boat is so buoyant that it slides right over every wave no problem. You will spin like a top if you don't have a rudder, though! Today I hit up a brand new spot with my buddies 2 new kayaks! Also, caught myself a lizardfish as a cherry on top! Camp Helen State park connects to Lake Powell and the Gulf of Mexico. Today was an amazing adventure. We saw an abandoned condominuim business, slipped our boat in a tide pool (I think it's a tide pool!) and met an amazing VIEWER on the water and we're now great friends. We fished under the bridge and saw a school of dolphins right by our boat. Redfish are hands down my favorite fish to target and we've been having a lot of luck with them here on the channel lately! Today I not only caught my first redfish, but TWO! The first was a Bull Redfish (just barely!) and what a fun time and great learning experience. Shawns boat is also super, super cool. Not only did I have a "bad day" on paper, the other guys at the boat ramp had it worse. Now, I don't believe in bad days on the water. It's all learning, or at the very least, an adventure! Today we hit Amazon for some awesome yet cheap modifications that not only look GREAT but are functional!
