Hockey Night in Belmont

Bought some vintage 1970 & 1971 OPEECHEE Hockey cards from chrisofthenorthcollectibles off ebay.

They had the draft early this year before the playoff teams were decided which leaves to a lot of 2nd guessing. 84 Guys picking 336 players through 4 rounds.

Some great looking 70's & 80's OPC Hockey Cards from Seasidegallery & roadrunner13. Several rookies and 1 card that will complete a set.

Went back and visited both Antique Markets in St. Jacobs ON. Came out with a large number of early 1970's OPC Hockey cards.

With the addition of Brendan Shanahan Rookie Card, I was able to complete the 1988 NHL OPC set. This set was best known for a few major impact trades.

Stopped on the way home from Toronto at St. Jacobs Antique Market to see what I could find and came home with some 1971 OPC cards and an unopened 1990 Wax Pack.

Went back to my favorite Hockey card place, Heroes Cards & Comics to pick up some more 1974 OPEECHEE cards, also headed over to Fan of the Sport for a 1974 OPC card.

Pick up Glen Sather's 1969 OPC Hockey card when he played for Pittsburgh. Picked up 5 cards in all from Fan of the Sport

Went to the London Card Expo for the 2nd time this year. Managed to get some nice 1971 OPC Hockey cards and an unopened 1990 OPC wax pack. The Gum is still inside.

Went down to Heroes Cards and Comics and picked up some high quality 1971 OPC Hockey cards. Probably one of the most expensive OPC Hockey sets to collect as Dryden, Dionne & Lafleur all had Rookie cards.

Went down to Heroes Cards and Comics to pick up 25 OPEECHEE Hockey cards from the 1974 set (1st Philidelphia Stanley Cup year). A few well known names from that time.

Picked up 11 1974 OPC World Hockey Association cards from ebay. Nostalgic look at some of the names, teams, and ugliest jerseys of all time.

Picked up a bunch 1974 OPC Hockey cards from Heroes Cards and Comics. Quality was mixed but got some interesting cards and love the old 70's vibe.

I finally bought the last 5 cards I needed to complete the 1977 World Hockey Association set of OPEECHEE cards from Ebay

The Belmont Oldtimers put on their annual NHL Playoff Hockey Draft for the 1st time since 2019 (CCP Virus Pandemic). Fun night with 84 participants, 4 rounds of drafting, 336 Players selected, Mr. Hockey and a lot of beer flowing

Purchased another lot of OPEECHEE 1977 World Hockey Association cards. Couple of Hall of Famers in this one.

Went with one of my kids on a school field trip to see Canada's national men's curling championship. We were up in the 3rd bowl but I wandered down to get closer to the ice.

Finally got my hands on some more of the 1977 OPC World Hockey Association cards. 15 cards in all to begin the process of completing the last set of WHA cards ever released.

The Edmonton Oilers went to 6 Stanley Cup Finals winning 5 Cups over an 8 year period (1983-1990) but never won more than 2 in a row. The 1985-86 season is the hole in the Oilers chances for a three peat and a place with the best Hockey Dynasties. What happened to them?

Scored some good quality 1975 OPC Hockey Cards from ebay featuring several prominent Habs from the 70's Dynasty team.

Finally finished collecting the 1976 O-PEE-CHEE Hockey card set. This set was the last to feature the Kansas City Scouts and Oakland Seals. It was the first set to feature Bryan Trottier and Dave Tiger Williams

scored another lot of OPC cards from the mid 70's that include some hall of famers, WHA and probably the best hockey card photo curtesy of Phil Roberto.

Belmont born & bred, Brian Willsie returns to his hometown with the Stanley Cup. Brian works in a player development role for the Colorado Avalanche and was allowed to have the Cup for part of the day. He once played for Avs, as well as, with the Kings & Capitals.

Managed to score 24 OPEECHEE WHA cards for the 1977-78 set from ebay. These cards are in great shape and really do capture the time where there was an upstart league to the NHL.

Ottawa did a nice tribute to Guy Lafleur prior to the 1st period between the Montreal Canadians and the Ottawa Senators.
