Funny Great Danes Prefer M Maddie the Ellie the Great Danes are very polite when they sit down for dinner. Watch & laugh as Maddie isn't terribly impressed with corn on the cob & Ellie & Maddie turn their noses up at Mom's mashed potatoes, but Maddie happily cleans the meat & sauce right off the rib bone. Ellie enjoyed her taste of ribs too. Mom's secret recipe for perfect ribs every time is to cook them low & slow. Mom covers the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan with rib sauce & then the ribs go in meaty side down & she pours the rest of the sauce on top of the ribs & covers the pan in foil. The ribbies bake for 2 1/2 hours at 325 degrees and then Mom flips them over & cooks them for another half hour uncovered. #rumble #dog #trending

Water Loving Maddie the Great Dane was thrilled to discover that after Hurricane Idalia's rainfall near Tampa, that the putting green was becoming a second pool! Watch & enjoy as Maddie enjoys splashing in the rain in the two backyard pools that thankfully did not become one large pool. We are so fortunate that our family & friends were spared the devastation & destruction caused by Idalia along the west coast of Florida. Our hearts go out to those affecting by the horrific flooding, from the storm surge & high tides & rain from the Hurricane. So many properties & streets with 15 miles of our home have been flooded & are still waiting for the water to recede.

Maddie the Great Dane usually doesn't mind the rain & wind, but the torrential rains from the last outer bands of Hurricane Idalia had Maddie opting to stay dry as she watched the storm. Thankfully we have had two days notice to start relocating potential projectiles & were able to move all the patio furniture that could go flying under the covered area of the lanai with 6 hours to spare before we will start feeling the initial winds & rain from Hurricane Idalia this afternoon. Idalia will be passing by Tampa as a Category 2 with winds of 120 mph / 193 kph at approximately 2 am tomorrow morning. Landfall is currently forecast to be 100 miles / 160 km north of Tampa. Our thoughts are with ogur fellow Floridians who are in Idalia's path & at risk of the 7-12 feet of storm surge flooding.
