Gallium Metal Crushed By Hydraulic Press Becomes Liquid Metal
In this video I crush the pure element gallium with a hydraulic press. I show how the gallium becomes a liquid at just above room temperature. Then I pour the gallium into a mold to make the ingot that I will crush in the hydraulic press. I take the ingot and then crush it in the hydraulic press. As the press comes down it melts the gallium. It is not actually form the pressure of the press, but from the temperature increase from heating up due to getting crushed by the hydraulic press and also due to the hydraulic press being a little warm enough to melt the gallium. After I crush it the gallium becomes solid again, so in order to remove it from the hydraulic press I put the metal plate in some warm water and then just pour it off. If you would like to know where I got my gallium from, I just ordered it from Amazon. It is awesome. Not know to be toxic so you can play with it unlike mercury.

Magnets And Ferrofluid Crushed By Hydraulic Press
In this video I crush a neodymium magnet with a hydraulic press. However before I crush the magnet with a hydraulic press I show you ferrofluid and how it works. Ferrofluid is an awesome substance that responds to a magnetic field by forming peaks. Then I put ferrofluid on the magnet and crush it with the hydraulic press! It is a must see!

Welded Sand Crushed By Hydraulic Press
In this video, I mix regular sand with JB Weld epoxy in order to for a tough composite welded sand to crush in the hydraulic press. I mix the adhesive together and then mix the sand in with the epoxy and cure it in order to crush it in the hydraulic press. I also freeze some sand with water in order to make an ice-sand composite, and I crush that in the hydraulic press also.
