NUGM04 520 nm Laser Diode Pointer. 1.5 Watts of Green.
Just a short 30 second video showing the beam from a 1.5 watt output 520 nm laser diode pointer. More info on this laser pointer here: https://laserpointerforums.com/threads/solution-to-adapt-a-15-mm-diameter-pcx-lens-to-a-standard-g2-lens-tube.107920/#post-1595391

Video showing the brilliance of a beam from a laser pointer both departing and returning
The beam from a laser looks much brighter coming towards the observer, rather than departing. This video shows the difference.

405 nm Laser Light Engine
This is a near-UV 405 nm 20 watt laser deck which I purchased surplus, it was built to function as a display scanner light source with a rotating raster scanning mirror assembly inside. A great source for 405 nm diodes which can EACH be pushed to 1.5 watts output, far more than the design power output. There are 20 diodes in this assembly.
These can still be found for sale through ebay, or through the http://starlightphotonics.com/index.html web site.

Laserpointerforums Member Designed Laser Diode Pointer
This host was a joint effort of several LPF members to build a pointer with integral beam correction. The LPF funder of the project can now be found on the laserhobbyist.com forum posting as Alaskan.

1.5 Watt 405 nm Near-UV Laser Diode Pointer
Here's a nice host built by Lifetime17 which has a 405 nm laser diode in it being pushed hard to produce about 1.5 watts of output power. When pushed that hard, the wavelength is actually between about 410 to 412 nm which is not at all UV or ultraviolet, but many individuals refer to these diodes as UV.

Beam Comparision of a NUBM44 Laser Pointer With and Without a Beam Expander
This is not a video, it just shows a photo of the size difference between the spot created by a NUBM44 laser diode pointer with and without expansion, or expander. The wide stripe is produced by a standard 6.33 mm diameter collimation lens such as the G2, the small spot produced by a beam which has been expanded to about 2 inches wide, without cylinder pair correction.
Adding a beam expander, or lens with a long enough focal length to allow the beam to expand before collimation, the result is a much lower divergence beam. For example, the NUGM44 diode has a divergence above 12 mRad when using a standard 6.33 mm diameter lens with a short focal length. Put a large diameter lens with a 2 or 3 inch focal length in front of the diode instead of the small lens, and the beam will be much wider leaving the pointer, but also have a proportionally lower amount of divergence producing a much smaller beamwidth or spot in the distance.
The photo on the left side is of the spot on a roof top from an expanded beam about 2 inches wide, the photo on the right side is the spot on the same roof top from a pointer which used a standard 6.3 mm diameter lens such as the G2.

High Power PBS Cube Laser Diode Host
Video of a host designed to combine the output of two laser diodes together into one beam at close to twice the power. Near the end I show an all copper host designed for a single laser diode.

I held my camera close to the beam where you can see dust particles sparkling in the darkness reflecting portions of the red, green and blue laser diode outputs within the beam of a dichroic combined laser producing a which appears to be white.

High Power 470 nm Cyan Cannon Laser Pointer - (Faux 470 nm).
This video shows a laser pointer designed by Bob AKA CDBEAM777 who is active on the laserhobbyist.com forum. Bob built this for me several years ago, he does custom machine and optics work, just tell him what you want, provide the parts and he will make it happen. His rates are very reasonable for the time involved.
